Ghost_of_Dude Ballot for 2017 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 17, 2017, 1:14 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Next five out: Maryland, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Vanderbilt

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide The Crimson Tide cruise to another ez victory and keep their stranglehold on the top spot
Clemson Tigers Their blowout of Louisville proves that even having to reload this year, they're still a force to be reckoned with. They're about even with Oklahoma at this point.
Oklahoma Sooners Despite Tulane giving them fits early on, they cruised through their final nonconference game as a frontrunner for the Big XII and an attractive playoff contender.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Oklahoma State jumps Penn State after demolishing Pittsburgh much more decisively than Penn State did.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State seems to be the B1G frontrunners, but they haven't exactly played a great opponent yet, and looked pedestrian at times against Pitt.
Washington Huskies Similar to Penn State, they've played lackluster opponents and didn't look as good as they should against Rutgers.
Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin continues to take care of business, albeit quietly.
USC Trojans After a manhandling of Stanford, they needed 2 overtimes to eek out a win against Texas, who may or not be good.
Michigan Wolverines They share the offensive struggles that rival Ohio State does, but with the distinction of not having lost yet.
Ohio State Buckeyes The offense looked better against Army, but this team still has to prove that they can beat top teams before they'll climb back up the ranks.
Georgia Bulldogs A classic case of "they don't feel like they're this good of a team but I don't know who else to put above them."
Florida State Seminoles If this team could play another game so I know what to do with them that'd be swell. (Yes I know it's not their fault)
Virginia Tech Hokies A solid win against a team I now consider top 25 and cruising to wins against inferior opponents means they continue to inch up the ranks. A showdown against top 5 Clemson will really test their mettle.
Washington State Cougars See Georgia.
TCU Horned Frogs A pretty decent road win against Arkansas and a comfortable win against a scrappy, possibly underrated SMU team looks good for the Horned Frogs.
Auburn Tigers They continue to struggle on offense and a 14 point win against a middling at best FCS team does not help their image.
Mississippi State Bulldogs The Bulldogs were in my next five out last week, and I wanted to see how they did against LSU before deciding whether or not they were the real deal. A defining 30 point win against them tells me that they may very well be.
USF Bulls They aren't impressive, but they're winning and they're probably the best G5 team.
LSU Tigers Got manhandled against Mississippi State and looked pitiful on offense. They have some work to do and they're going to get trashed against Alabama if they don't figure it out soon.
Oregon Ducks Their offense appears to be classic Oregon, but whether or not they can hang with good teams has yet to be shown, and thus they continue to hang out around the bottom of the top 25.
Louisville Cardinals Lamar Jackson is still a stud, but his supporting cast isn't quite up to snuff, and the team is visibly discouraged when trailing by a couple scores.
West Virginia Mountaineers A close loss to Virginia Tech and sound victories against everybody else. I'm still not 100% convinced about this team, but they'll have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves against a good looking Big XII this year.
Miami Hurricanes ????????????????????
Utah Utes No impressive statements, but they're taking care of business for now.
Kansas State Wildcats An ugly loss to Vanderbilt, but thanks to other teams dropping (Stanford in this case) they cling to the top 25.
