frumious88 Ballot for 2017 Week 4

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Sept. 18, 2017, 10:29 a.m.

Overall Rationale: My poll is a computer poll that I have been running for several years. It is loosely based of the Ohio highschool football rankings. Basically, it treats all FBS teams as equal at the start of the season. Teams get points for beating teams and get secondary points for how their opponents do against other teams. For example, Alabama beating Florida St in Week 1 is not worth very many points at the beginning of the season but if Florida St continues to win, Alabama gains more and more points every week from that victory as the system starts to recognize it as a quality win only if Florida St proves to be a quality win over the course of the season.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers
USC Trojans Human polls might be putting them lower due to close scoring games but my system views them as beating 3 solid teams and that is why they are ranked 2nd.
Oklahoma Sooners
Michigan Wolverines
Kentucky Wildcats Kentucky was my 26th team last week and after beating South Carolina, they shot up to the top 10.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Alabama Crimson Tide
Georgia Bulldogs
Minnesota Golden Gophers
Iowa Hawkeyes
Mississippi State Bulldogs
Wisconsin Badgers
Vanderbilt Commodores
Washington State Cougars
California Golden Bears
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State is this low as so far the teams they have beat are winless against FBS opponents. A win against Iowa this week will give them a huge boost up.
USF Bulls
San Diego State Aztecs
Duke Blue Devils
Houston Cougars
Memphis Tigers
Colorado Buffaloes
TCU Horned Frogs
Oregon Ducks
Virginia Tech Hokies
