atchemey Ballot for 2017 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 17, 2017, 9:01 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Life has been very busy for a few weeks. First it was the national meeting of the American Chemical Society (where I presented), then it was preparing for evacuation and evacuation for Irma. I haven't watched as much this year, and this is my first poll of the year...I'm ashamed, but I can move on with it. Unlike previous years, I don't have a preseason poll to go off of and slowly ween myself off of, but it is what it is. I'm going off of what I've seen and the matchups there have been.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Monsters.
USC Trojans Best schedule so far, dominating most opponents, and absolutely solid performance on both sides of the ball.
Clemson Tigers Not as good as last year, but they don't have to be to remain third.
Oklahoma State Cowboys They are ridiculous, and if they were Oklahoma with their performance so far they would be top-2. They aren't actually quite that good, but they are still excellent.
Penn State Nittany Lions I really hate the way Franklin is handling his wins over Pitt (among others), but they are good.
Oklahoma Sooners Lincoln Riley has done an incredible job.
Washington Huskies Lots of potential, underperforming, but still primed to explode.
Michigan Wolverines The UF win is of uncertain significance, so far, but they look excellent.
Georgia Bulldogs Fundamentally sound.
Wisconsin Badgers
Louisville Cardinals
Auburn Tigers They are sneaky good. Watch for them.
California Golden Bears I can't believe they're doing this well, and I totally believe they could continue to rise.
Virginia Tech Hokies
Maryland Terrapins They deserve to be ahead of OSU on record, and it might even be a close game, but I'm not sure yet.
Ohio State Buckeyes They shouldn't be sniffing the top ten yet.
Washington State Cougars
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Utah Utes
Mississippi State Bulldogs
USF Bulls
Florida State Seminoles 0-1 is a bad record. I still believe they could do really well this year, so they're ranked....But still.
Michigan State Spartans Biased, but I believe we are going to do well the next couple weeks and I want to be ahead of the curve.
Oregon Ducks
Minnesota Golden Gophers RTB.Next 5 in order:Kentucky (undef)Vandy (KState is a good win, look reasonable)Purdue (WTF, 2017?)WVU (Probably going to rise)Iowa (Undef, unconvinced)
