Ballot Type: Human

Overall Rationale: Well. This week showed us all sorts of stuff that I don't quite know how to make sense out of but here goes. Just to get it out of the way, LSU and Ole Miss are not ranked  because outside of FCS games, which I give no credit to, they're still 0-1. I couldn't quite find a place for OU either it was between them and Georgia for the last spot and Georgia has a better win. MSU is also not ranked because they've only played an FCS team. Big 12 looks pretty bad overall as well.
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Dominated one of the better G5 teams. Same old same old. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | When the offense wasn't clicking the defense stepped up big time. Limited Tulsa's high-powered offense. |
| Florida State Seminoles | Down one spot, but nothing against them. Should be a fantastic game against Louisville. |
| Houston Cougars | Also down one spot, team performed fine against a way lesser opponent even without Greg Ward Jr. |
| Texas Longhorns | Better win than Wisconsin and both destroyed their G5 teams. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | Unchanged from last week, due to ND beating a G5 team vs LSU beating a FCS team gets jumped by Texas. Badgers offense looks very competent and balanced thus far.  |
| Michigan Wolverines | Did what they were supposed to against UCF. |
| Louisville Cardinals | Lamar Jackson is just insane. But who knows which teams will fall apart down the stretch and which ones are for real this year? Solid win against Syracuse. |
| Iowa Hawkeyes | Never can tell what will happen in a rivalry game, but the Hawkeyes destroyed ISU as they should've. Interesting game against NDSU up next. |
| Washington Huskies | Blown out each of the teams they were supposed to. Should do the same this week then conference play starts. The trip to Arizona is looking easier which means some pac-12 voodoo will be more likely to occur.  |
| Texas A&M Aggies | Dropped a few spots simply because other teams played better opponents this week.  |
| Clemson Tigers | Dropped several spots because no top 10 should struggle to put away Troy. |
| Stanford Cardinal | Bye week. No change. |
| Tennessee Volunteers | Right near the middle of the top 25 seems perfect. Don't quite know how good they are since VT continually shot themselves in the foot. When VT wasn't beating themselves they were driving at will in the first quarter. Still though, Tennessee capitalized and won by 20+. |
| Nebraska Cornhuskers | Fourth quarter Nebraska is a sight to behold. Unfortunately having a slow start against Oregon likely will leave them too deep of a whole to crawl out of.  |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | Best one loss team in the country IMO. Big game against MSU coming up. |
| Pittsburgh Panthers | Nearly let PSU complete the comeback. The offense looks pretty efficient and defense gets a slight pass for being a rivalry game. Should know more this week against a pissed off OK State team in Stillwater. |
| Arkansas Razorbacks | So they nearly lost to La Tech and nearly let TCU complete a big comeback. They found ways to win both games though and the offense seems to maybe have found its stride. Should be a cupcake game against Texas State before conference play starts. |
| Boise State Broncos | Blew out what has lately been a decent ULL team. Beat the Air Raid, although nearly lost the game. Bye week before going to Reser to try and add another Pac-12 win. |
| Arizona State Sun Devils | Kalen Ballage deserves this spot just by himself. I think he had more TD's than there were punts in the game.  |
| Florida Gators | 30 straight against Kentucky. Not saying too much of this win, but Florida is still right in the mix to win the division.  |
| Colorado Buffaloes | Win against Colorado State still looks good. They buried their FCS opponent. On to perform another Miracle at Michigan? |
| San Diego State Aztecs | Pumphrey is a beast. I think Colorado would be tougher to beat than Cal which is why I have them right below. |
| Oregon Ducks | Two 'meh' sort of wins that don't exactly tell us a whole lot, but the trip to Lincoln sure should |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Which game was the fluke, UNC or Nicholls? No team even considering themselves top 25 should ever struggle against that bad of an FCS team. Still here over OU and WVU because they have the better win.  |
