Doogitywoogity 19 WEEK OF THE NERDS. Virginia Tech? You mean the school that some guy named Pat picked to win the ACC? Obviously the team that beats them must be a powerhouse. Put those anchors down in the W column Vandy and ride this all the way to a natty.

Tornadohunter24 20 [NEW] [1-0] Is Vanderbilt really better than Kansas, Kansas State, or any of the other P5 teams in the Honorable Mentions section? Maybe (probably) not. Do they have any realistic shot at the Playoffs? Not in the SEC. Is this an overreaction to one game? Absolutely. Is it justified by the sheer hilarity of them knocking off an ACC darkhorse in a stadium under construction with students seeing them play for probably the first time ever? 100%. I will broker no arguments - rank Vandy, cowards.

loganisfresh 23 In what was arguably the game of the week, Vanderbilt showed they had a lot of tenacity in various different game situations, whether it was starting hot, rebounding from the opposing team gaining a lot of momentum, or showing up in overtime. All of this while being the underdog playing against perhaps one of the most hyped Darkhorse teams of the offseason in Virginia Tech. Diego Pavia didn't have the most exciting arm of the week but made a lot of great throws and secured yards and points both on the ground and through the air when they were absolutely needed (26 carries for Pavia, 4 more than the rest of his team combined. Yikes!). Quincy Skinner Jr. and Sedrick Alexander are Commodore names to watch out for as the season progresses.

_TGT7 24 Ranking Vanderbilt is admittedly a bit of a meme pick, but they did beat a Virginia Tech team that was receiving votes, and no other unranked team who didn't directly beat a ranked team did anything super impressive, so I'll throw them a bone. They play Alcorn State and Georgia State next, so if they win those games they could be 3-0 going into a game against a currently ranked Missouri team. I like Clark Lea and I would like to see a good Vanderbilt football squad.
