Overall Rationale: Now that the CFP rankings are coming out, I decided to format my rankings differently to reflect how I would rank teams if the playoffs happened right now. This is a slight shift in my methodology and how I do my rankings, but I'm going to roll with it. Since this is a new ranking format, I won't show who dropped or rose, or how far teams moved, because it's not the same way I typically rank teams.

1 Indiana Hoosiers Been dominant all season and remain undefeated. (Big 10 CHMAPION)
2 Ohio State Buckeyes Great all season and been suffocating, but I wish they went for style points, which I don't usually value, but when a race is close, that's when you measure that type of stuff. (AT LARGE)
3 Texas A&M Aggies An undefeated SEC team with a tame schedule compared to its peers. (SEC CHAMPION)
4 Oregon Ducks A great team with only a loss being to the #1 team, but can't afford to slip up with how light the schedule is. (AT LARGE)
5 BYU Cougars Undefeated team that has been getting a tougher schedule as the season wears on, with the biggest test being against another playoff contender in Lubbock (Big 12 CHMAPION)
6 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Oh, how this team always finds a way to disappoint me. Still a good team and with Haynes King, anything is possible (ACC CHAMPION)
7 Ole Miss Rebels Took care of business against a disappointing South Carolina team, as they remain in contention for the SEC championship game. (AT LARGE)
8 Texas Tech Red Raiders Have been playing great all year, had one slip-up, but overall dominating teams. (AT LARGE)
9 Alabama Crimson Tide Was on bye this week, but has rebounded nicely from that Florida State loss. (AT LARGE)
10 Louisville Cardinals Have been high on them all year, and they have really proven to be a top team in the country. (AT LARGE)
11 Georgia Bulldogs I just don't trust them. Even if they make it to the National Championship game, I would still feel uncertain about them. However, the reality is that you have to win your games regardless of how they look. They may play some pretty ugly games, but they keep winning, so I can't penalize them too much for that. Still, I remain critical. (AT LARGE)
12 Utah Utes Only losses are to two playoff-worthy teams, but they dominate everyone else, so they are one of the top 2 loss teams. (FIRST FOUR OUT)
13 Virginia Cavaliers Another team I am wary of them due to how close their games are and just waiting for the other shoe to drop, but again, I can't penalize you because I think you will lose because they've only lost one game to a sneaky NC State team. (FIRST FOUR OUT)
14 Miami Hurricanes They are propped up by some early-season domination but may continue their free fall if they don't fix their issues. (FIRST FOUR OUT)
15 Notre Dame Fighting Irish After some tough early-season losses, they are still in the hunt. (FIRST FOUR OUT)
16 James Madison Dukes They have been a great team this year, and the only loss is to a playoff-caliber team in Louisville. (G5 CHAMPION/SBC CHAMPION)
17 Memphis Tigers This is the start of the bunch of AAC teams who seem set on cannibalizing this conference's shot at a CFP bid, but all four teams are strong and Memphis is at the top, even with a loss to UAB, but also because of them beating USF as the order goes: Memphis>USF>North Texas>Navy (NEXT FOUR OUT)
18 USF Bulls Have had a nice season and only losses are to two teams ahead of them, as well as having some nice wins. (NEXT FOUR OUT)
19 North Texas Mean Green The only loss is to USF, but other than that, they have been a fun team to watch, and they keep on winning. (NEXT FOUR OUT)
20 Navy Midshipmen Last AAC team undefeated, and then fell to my fourth-ranked AAC team, and I had them as G5 representative before their loss (NEXT FOUR OUT)
21 USC Trojans Nice road win against Nebraska, but will have some tough games ahead. (OUTSIDE LOOKING IN)
22 Michigan Wolverines Defense has been stellar, but worried about their passing offense as Bryce Underwood hasn't shown too much improvement, but the run game is still great even with only Jordan Marshall back there and not both him and Justice Haynes. (OUTSIDE LOOKING IN)
23 Washington Huskies They were on bye but have a nice three-game stretch that could put them at 9-2 to face off against Oregon for a probable playoff play in game. (OUTSIDE LOOKING IN)
24 Texas Longhorns Nice performance against Vanderbilt, but other than that, there are still some minor concerns I have. (OUTSIDE LOOKING IN)
25 Vanderbilt Commodores Couldn't knock off Texas, and maybe I should have dropped them off the ranking since they haven't had that impressive win that actually holds up now. Like how they beat a ranked South Carolina team on the road, which turned out to be not that great of a win. (OUTSIDE LOOKING IN)
