redrumsoxLoL Ballot for 2025 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes The Buckeyes are still the best team in the nation in my eyes and will remain this way unless they lose a game or if one the other undefeated P4 teams have a dominating statement victory.
Oregon Ducks The Ducks defeated Penn St last weekend in overtime but they don't rise in my rankings as I already them ranked at #2 and an OT win isn't enough for Oregon to jump above Ohio St
Miami Hurricanes Miami remains at #3 on my list after their bye week, they play Florida St this upcoming Saturday which should be an interesting game
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss rises high after taking down LSU on Saturday and having other top teams fall
Indiana Hoosiers Indiana was resilient against Iowa on Saturday winning a close low scoring affair
Texas Longhorns The Horns had a bye week so no change in opinion for this squad
Texas A&M Aggies The Aggies almost made me regret my ranking of them on Saturday but they were able to defeat a decent Auburn team. The 16-10 score doesn't tell the full story of that game where A&M was in control essentially all game, but a late Interception and return gave Auburn a chance that they did not ultimately take advantage of.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Closing out the Texas Trio in my rankings are the Red Raiders who are coming off a bye week. They play against Houston next weekend and are heavy favorites in my mind after the Cougars struggled against winless Oregon St.
Oklahoma Sooners I think the Sooners are quite good, and have a good resume, but I am not the most confident in them going forward. They have a very difficult schedule ahead of them and realistically if they come out of it with two or less losses they are in playoff contention
Penn State Nittany Lions Another Top 10 opponent another loss for the Nittany Lions. It really goes beyond pure randomness how much they struggle against fellow elite competition. Under James Franklin, they just cannot get it done and it seems to be more of a pattern than coincidence at this point. I still have them on the fringes of the Top 10 because they manage to take down good but not great teams.
Alabama Crimson Tide The Crimson Tide was rolling against Georgia and move back up in the rankings.
LSU Tigers Are we allowed to question the LSU offense now?
Georgia Bulldogs The Dawgs fell behind early and couldn't manage to come back at home against Alabama, this Georgia simply isn't dominant like the teams from a few years ago
Tennessee Volunteers Tennessee had to go to overtime last weekend but it was against an underrated Mississippi St squad so I don't hold that against them at all
Iowa State Cyclones Iowa State looked very good while handing Arizona their first loss on the season. The Cyclones still have a pretty clear path to the playoffs with their strongest opponents remaining being BYU and Arizona St both at home in Iowa
Vanderbilt Commodores Diego Pavia threw 5 touchdown passes against Utah St on Saturday but the defense gave up 35 points to Utah St. The defense will need to step up if they want to take down Alabama in one of the biggest games of the weekend with the hype of College Gameday shining the spotlight
Missouri Tigers Missouri got to bully UMass on Saturday and will get an important bye week before they host Alabama on October 11th
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets The Yellow Jackets remain undefeated after a great comeback against Wake Forest. Georgia Tech likely won't play a ranked opponent until they play against Georgia in the final week of the season so they have everything set up for them well
Michigan Wolverines After a bye week Michigan will be going up against Wisconsin this upcoming weekend.
Arizona State Sun Devils Arizona State comes back in to the rankings after defeating TCU on Friday night. Their hiccup against Mississippi State could be completely forgotten if they keep on winning
BYU Cougars BYU did manage to win but it was in their weakest game of the season on Saturday night against Colorado. They rise by 1 spot in the rankings though because of Florida St and TCU's losses
Memphis Tigers Memphis took care of business by scoring 55 points against Florida Atlantic on Saturday. They are the frontrunner to win the American Conference and claim a playoff spot as the 5th highest ranked conference champion at the moment
Virginia Cavaliers Virginia shocked the CFB world by beating Florida State on Friday night and likely having the field storming of the year. The Cavaliers don't have another ranked team on their schedule for the remainder of the season at the moment so their destiny is in their control
Florida State Seminoles I was really expecting Florida St to have a good season, but now I don't know what to think. They couldn't keep control of the ball especially in the first half and could not manage to win a game they were expected to
Illinois Fighting Illini Illinois comes back in to the rankings after defeating USC on Saturday at home. Their destiny is still under their control this season but their biggest test of the season is in a couple weekends against Ohio St
