SpadeRyker Ballot for 2025 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 28, 2025, 11:26 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes Nearing the halfway mark of the season and I think it's pretty clear OSU leads the pack. Excellent defense will get them far, the offense still hasn't fully matured though which may lead to issues against teams that can make even their defense sweat a bit.
Miami Hurricanes For me, a clear number 2 due to their excellent combination of dominating defense and high powered offense. We'll see if they can convert it into an ACC title and more down the road, but for now they look lethal.
Oregon Ducks Now hold what might be the best win in the country after Penn State performed their annual feeder role of giving the elite B1G teams a quality win.
Oklahoma Sooners Really hard to be certain of OU until their QB is back. This week will be interesting without Mateer to see if they can keep things afloat just long enough for him to return.
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss' defense turned from disgustingly poor to disgustingly good this week. Part of that may be LSU getting overrated on offense, but the Ole Miss offense itself was dominating a very good defense themselves. Very high expectations for the Rebels.
Indiana Hoosiers A close call but previous Indiana teams lose those close matchups against Iowa so I don't feel like punishing them for this.
Texas A&M Aggies Pretty solid win this week, I do look forward to seeing them go up against some powerhouses in the SEC soon. I feel like this could be their year with no clear frontrunner to crush their dreams.
Texas Tech Red Raiders I like em
Penn State Nittany Lions I didn't let Penn State fall too far because this is sort of what I expected. They're always an elite team with great talent but I like to call them the bridesmaid of modern CFB.
Florida State Seminoles It's a tough loss but they still have one of the best wins in the country and they didn't look that bad in the game, Virginia just looked incredibly good. I think it's a loss that won't look too bad by the end of the season but for now it stings.
Alabama Crimson Tide Since the FSU loss, Bama has certainly found its stride. A little concerned by the second half shutout but still, being shut out for a whole half and still winning isn't the worst thing you could see.
Texas Longhorns
Georgia Bulldogs Not a bad loss but sort of expected at this point. I think Georgia is better than that loss though and will show it by rallying similar to how Bama did from the FSU loss.
Iowa State Cyclones I've been having my doubts about Iowa State but that was an excellent showing to put those aside for now. They're one of the B12 contenders and easily in the conversation of an at large bid if they keep it up.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets A scary game at Wake but Wake always seems to find ways to punch above their weight at home. A win is a win, on to the next one.
BYU Cougars I'm not going to lie, I did not stay up late enough to see this game but i do like BYU's defense a lot this year. It's genuinely among the elites of CFB and would make them competitive with anyone. How far they go will come down to the offense not giving away possessions and finding those breakthrough moments to capitalize on.
Vanderbilt Commodores First half spooked me a bit on Vandy but they rallied and won decisively. That offense is great and will need to be even better for them to have a shot in the upcoming stretch.
LSU Tigers I've been a little low on LSU but this week felt worse than I had thought. Ole Miss' defense wasn't very good going into this game but they nearly shut down what was expected to be an elite offense helped by an elite QB. I don't know for sure where LSU ends up but I think they can be better than what they've shown so far.
USF Bulls
Michigan Wolverines
Louisville Cardinals
Maryland Terrapins
Tennessee Volunteers
North Texas Mean Green
Virginia Cavaliers
