Jerrywelfare Ballot for 2025 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 28, 2025, 11:43 a.m.

Overall Rationale: After the shake-up in the top 10, we got some answers, and we got some new questions.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes No reason to move them yet.
Oregon Ducks Rewarding them for a good conference win, on the road. I could see the argument for #1 at the moment, though.
Miami Hurricanes They dropped a spot, but not as punishment for the bye, rather Oregon has the more impressive win so far.
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss is looking like it might be the best team in the SEC at the moment.
Oklahoma Sooners I feel like Oklahoma is probably a little overvalued in the top 5, and unfortunately they're playing Kent State in week 6. But I'm rewarding undefeated teams this week, so it'll be good for now.
Indiana Hoosiers Would have liked to see more against Iowa, but an in conference road win is an in conference road win, in my book.
Texas A&M Aggies They didn't bury Auburn, but they were in control. Mississippi State will be an interesting test.
Iowa State Cyclones This team has been so fun to watch. I don't know if they have the stamina, but the only real tests on their schedule are BYU and Cincinnati.
Vanderbilt Commodores Okay, if I'm being honest, I did this because it's funny. Is Vandy a top 10 team? Who knows. Are they tied for 1st in the SEC going into week 6? They sure are!
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets I don't feel good about punishing teams that win close on the road, in conference.
Missouri Tigers I could have put them at 10 for the same reasons Vanderbilt is at 9, but I'm fine with them here. A bye before Alabama, then we'll see what the picture looks like.
Texas Tech Red Raiders I'm rewarding undefeated teams. The season is almost halfway over, afterall.
Penn State Nittany Lions The best of the "beatens" in my opinion, at least on paper and in the moment.
Texas Longhorns Other than week 1, it's wild to start your season in week 6...and against a bad Florida team.
LSU Tigers This is probably where they should have been all along, and I think we all knew it.
Virginia Cavaliers Oh, some of y'all are about to HATE 16-20. And I love that. With one loss each, the order needs no further explanation. Only reason NC State didn't enter chat, is they dropped a second loss this week. Womp womp.
Florida State Seminoles
Alabama Crimson Tide
Georgia Bulldogs
Tennessee Volunteers
Illinois Fighting Illini I think it's a little more clear that Illinois lost to a very good Indiana team.
BYU Cougars More of "I don't care if a road conference win was close, it was a win"
Utah Utes They're probably a better team than BYU, but fortunately we'll have that answer shortly.
Michigan Wolverines Why do we always have to wait until the last week of the year to know who Michigan is?
Maryland Terrapins Did I blink and Maryland is undefeated going into week 6? Nice!
