Overall Rationale: At the start of the season, a team gets points for where they finished in the previous seasons final AP Poll (#1 gets 25, #25 gets 1), their conference affiliation (Power 2 gets 4, Next 2 gets 3, Group of 6 gets 2), and bonus points (number of poll era national championships and Heisman trophy winner divided by their winning percentage the previous season). As the season progresses, teams can earn points for victories. Beating a P2 team nets 4 points, a N2 team nets 3, a G6 nets 2. If the team beat is ranked in the AP Top 25, bonus points are added according to the teams rank (#25 gets 1 additional point, #1 gets 25 additional points).
