GatorBolt Ballot for 2024 Final

Ballot Type: Human

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes Last time we did the poll they were still reeling after Michigan shocked them. Over a month and a half later, they redeemed themselves big time. A well earned National Championship in Columbus!
Notre Dame Fighting Irish What a run Notre Dame went on too. After the NIU shock they were a team on a mission all year, just outclassed in the end. No shame at all in the ending though.
Oregon Ducks Oof. When ranking the teams who fell short I thought about things a bit, but Oregon deserves to stay as high up as #3. They still went 13-1 and won the Big Ten. Just that 1 hurts big time though.
Texas Longhorns Still a solid season, and with 2 final 4 appearances in a row I think we can say that Texas is back. But this time they just couldn't get over the Ohio State hump.
Penn State Nittany Lions Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Same as it has been.
Georgia Bulldogs Weird team this year. Still a good year, but for Georgia's standards there is something missing.
Arizona State Sun Devils Special season despite the heartbreak against Texas. Full credit to what Dillingham has done.
Indiana Hoosiers Great year for the Hoosiers, and no amount of discourse from the at large spots' politicking will ever take that away.
Tennessee Volunteers All of that talk about the takeover in Columbus is an all time example in counting chickens before the eggs hatch.
Boise State Broncos Great year, just outgunned by Penn State.
BYU Cougars Probably the most underrated team in the country, hats off to a great season in Provo though.
SMU Mustangs Credit to a great year 1 in the ACC, just a sour ending the last two games though.
Ole Miss Rebels While a lot of the attention went to Lane Kiffin's twitter antics, can't help but feel this year was a massive what if.
Iowa State Cyclones Ohio State may be national champions, but Iowa State ate a mascot. In my opinion, the Cyclones won the only game that matters.
Illinois Fighting Illini Probably another underrated team all year. Credit to Brett Bielma for assembling a solid team in Urbana Champaign.
South Carolina Gamecocks I imagine the fans all felt themselves through Shane Beamer during that game.
Clemson Tigers Solid effort but too outmatched by the Longhorns.
Syracuse Orange Well, a bowl win means Fran Brown is staying clean. In all seriousness, a great year 1 for the Brown era in Syracuse.
Miami Hurricanes Great offense, but that defense wasted what could have been a good year for the Canes.
Alabama Crimson Tide Waited 21 days just to say this: Ooof.
Missouri Tigers Solid Bowl win, and while expectations were playoff a 10-3 year isn't too bad for Mizzou.
Army West Point Great season, wish they got a better bowl game. Shame what happened to Marshall.
UNLV Rebels Say what you will, Dan Mullen is inheriting a UNLV program in a much better spot than Barry Odom found it.
Memphis Tigers Great year in Memphis, as the program builds towards a possible P4 invite. Silverfield having 5 bowl wins ain't bad.
Michigan Wolverines Maybe there are better teams to rank here. But come on: those Ohio State and Alabama wins were masterful. I'm going full sicko here and rewarding the end of Michigan's season with a top 25 vote.
