1 Oregon Ducks This season is wild. Earlier I was doubtful after they looked mortal against Idaho and Boise State. Now they're the number one team with the best resume by far. And I know Purdue is down bad but beating the Spoilermaker curse year one in the Big Ten is major points to me.
2 Penn State Nittany Lions A week off moving into number two isn't bad. Now time for a test at Camp Randall against a Wisconsin team that is improving.
3 Georgia Bulldogs Well any doubts after the Alabama loss have been silenced. What a win for the Dawgs.
4 Ohio State Buckeyes Week off after that emotional ending at Oregon was needed. Now time for a Nebraska team that is probably shook up after their adventures in Bloomington.
5 Miami Hurricanes Cam Ward deserves all the UM NIL money.
6 Texas Longhorns Texas has been moved up to Number 1 after they threw trash at me.
7 BYU Cougars The Stormin' Mormons just keep winning.
8 Iowa State Cyclones Real gut check against UCF but they passed.
9 Indiana Hoosiers They had my attention after starting undefeated, after they throttled what I view is an improved Nebraska team they have my undivided respect. Saturday Gameday is going to be special.
10 LSU Tigers Yeah no wonder why Brian Kelly crashed out when they lost to USC. This is turning out to be a good Bayou Bengal team.
11 Tennessee Volunteers It's a sign of times in Tennessee where they've beaten Florida and Alabama and it feels like just meeting expectations.
12 Clemson Tigers Props to them for keeping winning. I just let them get passed since other teams have had more impressive wins/stayed undefeated.
13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish The NIU loss may end up as one of the more perplexing results all year.
14 Kansas State Wildcats Great win over West Virginia, I'm sure the Wildcat faithful had more fun than the Mountaineer faithful. Now on to the Sunflower Showdown.
15 Boise State Broncos Necessary Week off before what may be one of the G5 Games of the Year.
16 Pittsburgh Panthers Solid week off before a test against a solid looking Syracuse team.
17 Texas A&M Aggies Props to the Aggies for improving week to week it feels like. Huge test against LSU incoming.
18 Alabama Crimson Tide Georgia win still buoys them but still dicey times for the Tide.
19 SMU Mustangs The Pony Express keeps rolling Year 1 in the ACC.
20 Missouri Tigers Gutsy win against Auburn, full props to Brady Cook.
21 Illinois Fighting Illini Sign of a good team in Illinois: beating Michigan and it doesn't even feel like that big an upset.
22 Ole Miss Rebels Never thought that an upcoming game against Oklahoma may be what the doctor ordered for Ole Miss.
23 Navy Midshipmen For those who downplay the expanded playoff: we now have the most consequential Navy Notre Dame game in my lifetime. Cool that there's implications in a historic matchup like this.
24 Army West Point Can't help but love the story of both Army and Navy this year.
25 Vanderbilt Commodores Never thought I would rank a Vandy team with a Georgia State loss.
