Prof_Pie Ballot for 2024 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 3, 2024, 3:12 p.m.

Overall Rationale: The depths of my mind

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes
Georgia Bulldogs They kicked around a mediocre Clemson team, I don't see a good enough reason to push them past OSU just yet.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Incredible game in a very hard environment. ND isn't messing around this season.
Texas Longhorns Colorado State came out with something to prove and was immediately obliterated. Hard to argue that Texas isn't scary good this year.
Michigan Wolverines I think this offense is very strong, they just need more of a break from the field. So, a bit of an unbalanced team relative to both sides of the ball, but with room to improve regardless.
Oregon Ducks I think people are over-reacting to Idaho having them on the ropes. Oregon looked great and once they found their rhythm, they became dominant.
Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama blew out a cupcake. Call me after they do it to a team with a pulse (like Vandy)
Penn State Nittany Lions Great red zone defense, just have to clean up the middle of the field. I think 8 is right where the Lions belong for now.
Ole Miss Rebels
Utah Utes
Missouri Tigers
USC Trojans What a gutsy game. Just not enough movement ahead of them for me to justify a jump into the top 10. But they are RIGHT on the line for me. Trojans could be the dark horse of the season.
Washington Huskies Another team unjustly snubbed by the preseason poll. Huskies looked incredible, and I expect them to compete for consistency int he 10s-20s rankings.
Tennessee Volunteers
Miami Hurricanes The state of Florida may actually belong to the Canes for once. Is the 'U' really back though? Doubtful.
Oklahoma Sooners
Iowa Hawkeyes
NC State Wolfpack
LSU Tigers Real tough loss for the Tigers. Brian Kelly Syndrome aside, I thought they looked quite nice and should be in for a rewarding season.
Louisville Cardinals The Cards may actually have another shot at the ACC title this year with the way things are shaking out!
Texas A&M Aggies Mike Elko introduced a team with some real backbone against USC. That was a tight game, and TAMU never gave up. A welcomed change of pace in college station.
Wisconsin Badgers Yeah yeah yeah no one else has Wisconsin on their list. I think that's unjust and pointless. The badgers looked great to end last season and they look great now. Give them their due.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Boston College Eagles Hear me out: BC beat FSU by more points, in their stadium, after they had a week to get their stuff together. Much more impressive than GT.
Oregon State Beavers The Beavers looked great last season and I see no reason why they should be excluded from the top 25 for now. For Oregon's first real upcoming challenge, I'd watch for the Beavers to pull off the impossible.
