NA_Faker Ballot for 2024 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 3, 2024, 9:51 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Based on human judgement of wk 1 results factoring preseason ranks to judge team strength

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs #1 until further notice; they get the benefit of the doubt due to how strong they’ve been recently.
Ohio State Buckeyes Started game slow but ramped up vs Akron in a relatively comfortable win
Texas Longhorns Showed off firepower on offense and improved secondary as Quinn Ewers made his case for being one of the Heisman favorites passing for 250 yds and 3 tds in the first half.
Alabama Crimson Tide Kalen DeBoer had the ride rolling in his opener.
Ole Miss Rebels Hung over 50 on em in the first half. Nuff said
Penn State Nittany Lions Did Drew Allar finally get his shit together?
Oregon Ducks Struggled a bit to score against a team they should have dispatched easily.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Good win in ugly game against a Texas A&M team with lots of talent on paper
Michigan Wolverines Need to get offense fixed before Texas goes to Ann Arbor next week or this game could get ugly. Stays at #9 due to defending champs and talent they still have on roster.
Utah Utes My favorite to win the big 12; looked solid in wk 1 with Rising back
Missouri Tigers Got the job done in a game they should have dominated
Miami Hurricanes The U might be back after putting Billy Napier on the hot seat
USC Trojans USC was clutch when they needed to be against LSU, defense also looks improved
Tennessee Volunteers 69 points? nice
Oklahoma Sooners No Caleb, no problem
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa actually scored on offense, vaunted defense is as advertised
Oklahoma State Cowboys If Bowman and Gordon stay healthy this team can make it back to the Big 12 Championship Game
Kansas State Wildcats A team that is in the mix for the Big 12, handled business in wk 1 with a solid run game
Arizona Wildcats What a game. Arizona offense lit it up through the air, but their defense was not as dominant as they should have been vs UNM
Kansas Jayhawks If Jalon Daniels and Devin Neal stay healthy, Kansas has the talent to contend for the Big 12 championship
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets GT might be better than we thought, currently 2-0 and at the top of the ACC rankings
Texas A&M Aggies Lost to a good team in a close game so I’ll keep them ranked, but Weigman looked rough and if that performance continues A&M could quickly drop out of the rankings
LSU Tigers Lost to a talented team in a close one so I’ll keep them ranked.
Boise State Broncos Could be the G5 playoff pick
Louisville Cardinals Looked respectable, really close between them and NC State for this final spot but they had a better performance
