bretticus33 Ballot for 2024 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 3, 2024, 1:12 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia with one of the most impressive wins of the weekend, although the talk was more about how awful Clemson’s offense is than anything Georgia did. Dawgs remain on top.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State failed to cover the 50 point spread and only won by 46. Scrubs
Alabama Crimson Tide Pretty good way to start the DeBoer era, although anything less than a blowout would have been bad.
Texas Longhorns Same for Texas. 52 point shutout win and got Arch some snaps and TDs.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State looked like a different team with Kotelnicki calling the offense and made Drew Allar look good. If that’s the Penn State we get this season, they may be a player in the B1G after all.
Missouri Tigers Pretty easy win for Mizzou.
Ole Miss Rebels Massive blowout, as expected.
Oklahoma State Cowboys South Dakota State was a trendy upset pick but Oklahoma State won with ease. Them being able to win without a big game from Ollie Gordon showed why I’m much higher on OKST than most.
Tennessee Volunteers Nico looked like the real deal, but it was Chattanooga.
Oregon Ducks Oregon wasn’t far away from making people forget about App State beating Michigan. Another weak effort like that against Boise State and Oregon is in serious trouble.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame’s offense needs some work but that defense was good. ND’s schedule is really falling nicely for a CFP run, possibly an undefeated run.
Utah Utes Easy win for the Utes going into their first Big 12 conference game.
Michigan Wolverines It was a win, and Fresno State isn’t a pushover, but this wasn’t an inspiring performance from the Michigan offense. Defense is great though.
Kansas State Wildcats Solid win for KSU. Tricky road game at Tulane next.
Oklahoma Sooners Easy win for OU, but lost a good WR in the process
Kansas Jayhawks No Kotelnicki, no problem for KU
USC Trojans Arguably the best win of the weekend. The offense looks like it might take a step back without Caleb Williams, but it should be really encouraging that the defense looked so much better and more competent.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets GT off to a great start to the season, although that FSU win got spoiled some with Boston College doing the same in Doak Campbell
Memphis Tigers Easy win as expected. Still my top G5 team
Miami Hurricanes Miami looked like the team that was deserving of the hype and Cam Ward looked like a difference maker. How much of that was Florida being awful and Miami being good is yet to be seen.
LSU Tigers Offense didn’t look bad but clearly took a step back (as expected). Defense still needs some work, especially in the secondary.
Louisville Cardinals Easy, solid win for Louisville
Arizona Wildcats Tet MacMilian with one of the top single performances of the weekend, but concerning how many points Arizona gave up.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Dylan Riaola looks like the real deal. Rivalry week with Colorado coming to Lincoln next.
NC State Wolfpack A win is a win, but that wasn’t an encouraging performance from NC State
