MemeLovingLoser Ballot for 2024 Week 2

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Sept. 2, 2024, 10:17 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Hybrid Power Ranking and Resume Poll. Based on team statistics in each of their last 12 games, with each statistic being weighted differently, and more recent games having more weight to bring it more inline with human polls. Poll considers the 12 most recent games a team has played (including prior year and bowls), with prior year games being given much less weight, and "good stats" against FCS schools being discounted. Weightings may be tweaked season-to-season, but not mid-season. Teams must have played 12 games as an FBS school to qualify for a ranking (prior year games against an FBS while still in FCS count).

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines 92.67 - IMO, they shouldn't be here. The "sour mash" is propping them up for now, but shouldn't for long.
Georgia Bulldogs 88.08
Alabama Crimson Tide 84.77
Texas Longhorns 80.02
Penn State Nittany Lions 79.93
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 79.10 - Getting in an extra game did them wonders here
Ohio State Buckeyes 78.50 - Winning is 50% of poll score (which all above them tie or exceed). SoS is 25%, and Akron is ranked #129. Stomping a back marker team will only get you so far.
Missouri Tigers 76.88
SMU Mustangs 78.58
Arizona Wildcats 76.45
Washington Huskies 76.03
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 73.94 - SoS gets ND over Oklahoma
Oklahoma Sooners 73.93
Ole Miss Rebels 73.13
Kansas State Wildcats 72.11
Oregon Ducks 71.98
Memphis Tigers 71.13
Northwestern Wildcats 70.91
Clemson Tigers 69.93
James Madison Dukes 69.32
Maryland Terrapins 68.35
Boise State Broncos 68.04
Boston College Eagles 67.56
USC Trojans 67.32
Kansas Jayhawks 67.19
