OldCoaly Ballot for 2023 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 2, 2023, 9:52 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Strength of record with injuries and performance factored in

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines Dominant in win over Nebraska. Very effective at controlling the tempo of the game.
Texas Longhorns Strong wins continue. One better half against Wyoming is what is keeping them from the #1 spot.
Washington Huskies No weaknesses shown yet, but I don't know if I trust them without facing some tougher tests.
Georgia Bulldogs Still undefeated but a team that attacks early could be their undoing. Start strong and contain Bowers, that could lead to an upset.
Ohio State Buckeyes Not fully sold on McCord but they are a well-rounded team. The defense has played very well.
Penn State Nittany Lions I am very optimistic, especially because the defensive line looks scary, but I can't put them above OSU without a win in two weeks. Receivers need to step up as a group.
Oregon Ducks Playing strong, this week will be the biggest test so far.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Good play from the Irish, should be able to win out.
Florida State Seminoles Older wins aren't looking too great now, undefeated but with some glaring weaknesses on defense.
USC Trojans Their defense is nothing but a glaring weakness.
Oklahoma Sooners Huge game this week, excited to see both teams coming in hot for the matchup.
Washington State Cougars Undefeated and looking solid.
Oregon State Beavers Last second field goal is the only thing separating them and WSU.
Alabama Crimson Tide They should be better than they have shown.
North Carolina Tar Heels Should continue winning for a bit.
Ole Miss Rebels Beat LSU in a gutty win and played hard against Alabama.
Utah Utes Got exposed against the Beavers.
Miami Hurricanes Still undefeated, need a statement win at UNC next week.
Maryland Terrapins Undefeated with healthy margins on the scoreboard.
Missouri Tigers Quietly cruising undefeated.
Kentucky Wildcats Strong win this week for Kentucky.
Duke Blue Devils I would have them around 12 or 13 if not for their QB being injured for a few weeks.
Fresno State Bulldogs Started the year slow but have found their stride.
Louisville Cardinals Undefeated. Ranked
Kansas State Wildcats Lost by 3 to Mizzou. Should win handily this week.
