LeWoofle Ballot for 2023 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 1, 2023, 10:42 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Resume based ballot utilizing MoV, SoR, SoS primarily with small amounts of eye-test involved when comparing similar bodies of work. Some bias from last season's results remain to give a starting point for most teams since we have such small sample size of games this season.

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns The line play from this team is godly, quinn ewers is very capable, they have an excellent receiving core;theres a lot pointing to UT being deserving of number 1 spot after UGA faltered this week.
Penn State Nittany Lions Fantastic MoV. PSU, OSU, and Michigan all have claims to the number 2 spot and this is practically a 3 way tie.
Ohio State Buckeyes Notre Dame win looks better after ND beat a good Duke team; PSU, OSU, and Michigan all have claims to the number 2 spot and this is practically a 3 way tie.
Michigan Wolverines Fantastic MoV, PSU, OSU, and Michigan all have claims to the number 2 spot and this is practically a 3 way tie.
Georgia Bulldogs This team looks completely mortal compared to last year; they still have a very good defense but its not unbeatable. Brock Bowers is fantastic though, and it may not be fair to drop them this far. The SEC looks a little worse than years past, and UGA could probably go undefeated and reclaim a top spot.
Oregon Ducks Only blemish on the resume so far is the TT game, where they were extremely heavily penalized; they seem to have cleaned up a little bit, and both the offense and defense look stellar. The game against UW likely decides a new number 2 team on my poll, assuming texas beats OU this week.
Washington Huskies Stellar offense and ok defense, the game against Arizona wasnt as impressive as expected but every other game theyve played lights out. The game against UO likely decides a new number 2 team on my poll, assuming texas beats OU this week.
Washington State Cougars The win against OSU looks better now, and gives them a massive jump. On a power ranking poll, they probably arent this high, but on this resume poll, its hard to argue they dont deserve top 10.
Florida State Seminoles The LSU win unfortunately means less now; FSU could be better than this ranking, but unfortunately theyll have to wait until the Duke game to prove it
Oklahoma Sooners OU looks worlds better than last year. Defensive performance has been ticked up 3 notches and the offense looks good; they need to play good teams to prove it, which they will have a chance to do in the RRS against my number 1 team in Texas.
USC Trojans Caleb Williams is nuts, and if USC had even an average defense theyd be a real threat; as it stands either Oregon has the best defense in the nation or USCs defense sucks, and i think its easy to tell which one is more correct. It seems unfair to drop USC this far in a win, but everyone above them is also undefeated and doesnt have Alex Grinch as a DC.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Good win against a scrappy duke team; it hurts to wonder what might have happened if they had fielded 11 players on those two plays against OSU. Either way, this team is by far the most deserving 1 loss team, and on a power ranking poll would be much higher.
Alabama Crimson Tide Offensive numbers arent trash, but it is a little one dimensional in running. The defense is excellent though, and losing to texas isnt that bad of a slight. Expect this team to rise in this poll in later weeks as teams above them have to play against each other.
North Carolina Tar Heels Bye Week, who knows boyos
Miami Hurricanes Bye week, but the Texas A&M win is looking better now.
Kentucky Wildcats Strong performance, but unfortunately i had florida as a very average team before kentucky smacked them. Small rise for now.
Oregon State Beavers Close loss to a good WSU team; the PNW teams are all really good this year, the highlight of a stronger than average Pac12.
Ole Miss Rebels Crazy game against LSU, but i had LSU lower than most people. Small boost.
Duke Blue Devils No shame in losing to ND, this team is fighting really really well this year. Mike Elko is doing something right.
Utah Utes One day this team will have Cam Rising back.
Tennessee Volunteers Florida loss is looking worse each week, but this team seems to be recovering decently and on a power ranking poll would probably be higher than this.
Missouri Tigers undefeated
Fresno State Bulldogs undefeated
Texas A&M Aggies Looking better each week, the Auburn win looks a bit better and i think im a little higher on Miami than most.
Louisville Cardinals Undefeated, but birds arent real. Not convinced this team is excellent.
