FlashSpider-man Ballot for 2023 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 1, 2023, 1:30 p.m.

Overall Rationale: This is based on my opinion. I try to judge based on results of games. I only watch a few a week. Don't know talent going in. I love advanced stats but don't feel like using them here. Bias: I go to TAMU, grew up on ASU. Feel free to @ me on reddit, would love to talk about it. Also, I don't know g5. If I put a team, it's likely cause they were ranked the previous week.

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines
Texas Longhorns Ugh
Ohio State Buckeyes
Georgia Bulldogs Being that close to Auburn isn't a good look. I wat had Thorne play the week before. He can't throw. He missed so many wide open receivers. And UGA still struggles against them. I'm sure UGA will bounce back. But, for now, they drop.
Washington Huskies I know, the struggled against u of a. But I still think UW is really good and will bounce back. They got the win and play UO in 2 weeks, which is gonna be an amazing game. Plus, they often struggle in the desert 😈
Penn State Nittany Lions
Florida State Seminoles I had a good talk with an FSU fan after my last ranking of them that convinced me to change some things. Including moving FSU back up to a reasonable spot. I'm still not as high on them as a lot of others, but 7 feels more fair.
Oregon Ducks
USC Trojans
Oklahoma Sooners Would probably have put them at 11, but we got to get that top 10 RRS. Time for the one week of the season where I root heavily for OU (though there's a decent chance this ends up being the Big XII champ game with how both teams have been playing so far)
Washington State Cougars They've beaten multiple teams who were ranked at the time (Wisconsin, Oregon State). They have earned this ranking.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Highest one loss team. Followed up a close loss to OSU with a close win over Duke. I've been high on Duke and I think ND has looked like the best 1 loss team in the nation.
Miami Hurricanes Only faced 1 p5 team, yeah, but they have beaten everyone handily.
North Carolina Tar Heels
Alabama Crimson Tide I'm trying to prioritize undefeated teams over 1 loss teams, but losing to a current top 3 team and beating a good Ole Miss team, who just beat LSU, plus being Bama, idk where to rank them. 15 feels fair. Debated dropping them to 17 but I couldn't, ultimately.
Kentucky Wildcats I'm still deciding what I want to prioritize but, for this week, I decided an undefeated p5 team that has won every game by multiple possessions deserves to be ranked over almost all 1 loss teams. You can argue 18-21 should be above them, but I decided this way. You can only beat the teams in front of you and they have done that.
Maryland Terrapins See UK
Duke Blue Devils Toss up between 18-20, maybe even to 21. But I've been high on Duke so they get here.
Oregon State Beavers Good win. I've been high on Utah and Wazzu. So 19 feels fair, maybe?
Ole Miss Rebels I mentioned last week I wasn't as high on LSU as most. But still a good win. Great game too, prob best of the season so far imo. Glad they beat LSU.
Utah Utes Tough loss. They didn't look good. I've been really high on them but they are losing their luster here. Might just be injury, though. We'll see. And with UU dropping, UCLA drops of my list as a result.
Missouri Tigers Both Mizzou and Louisville are undefeated, but both have won close games. Both of these teams have won most of their games by one possession. A win is a win, but that is why they are below so many 1 loss teams.
Louisville Cardinals The last of the 17 undefeated p5 teams, I believe.
Fresno State Bulldogs Idk g5. But they are undefeated and were ranked last week, so here you go.
Kansas State Wildcats I was between a few teams here. Too early in the season for a 2 loss team to make it, so lsu goes bye. From there, I was between UCLA, TAMU, and K State. I don't want to let my bias get in the way, and.we haven't done much yet. Then, with Utah losing, I ultimately am going to go with K State. But they are all pretty close.
