GatorBolt Ballot for 2023 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 1, 2023, 11 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Resume, Eye-Test, and some old-fashioned line of thought this time.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs They looked beatable for Auburn until you remember they have a guy named Brock Bowers. This Georgia team is more vulnerable than the past two years, but yet they keep winning. Maybe they don't deserve to be 1 based on this year alone but I'm too old fashioned to not put them 1 as long as they keep winning.
Michigan Wolverines Just another clinical performance, and Nebraska is the latest Drowned Ferret.
Texas Longhorns Would have liked to see how Kansas would have fared with Daniels: but in the end he does not play defense. What an impressive performance from the Horns, and now a date at the State Fair looms.
Ohio State Buckeyes Good timing for the bye week as they get ready for October Maryland. Moved them up a bit due to more credit for the Notre Dame
Florida State Seminoles Unfortunately seems like they had a good time watching the noon game during the bye. Still, I just decided to let Texas pass them, and knocked them down behing Ohio State since the LSU win looks a little worse now.
Washington Huskies They escaped the Desert voodoo. Still, I think they just got passed by Texas and Ohio State given their resumes. A huge game against Oregon looms.
Penn State Nittany Lions Sleptwalk the first half but full credit to them being a second half team.
Oregon Ducks Oregon decided Stanford would not ruin their season this year. I cannot wait until their showdown with Washington.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Gutsy, gutsy win at Duke. Still a top 10 caliber team in my opinion.
Alabama Crimson Tide I feel like they're improving week to week, slowly but surely.
Washington State Cougars Shut up Pat McAfee, I'm sick of you.
USC Trojans This game against Colorado reinforced how I feel. Caleb Williams can score on anyone, but I can't trust them as long as they employ the Grinch who stole Defense.
Miami Hurricanes Moved up due to other teams losing. I'm also giving them more credit for the A&M win even though I don't have them ranked again yet.
North Carolina Tar Heels The bye week allowed them to jump idle teams.
Oklahoma Sooners A nice convincing win against Iowa State. Still, I think we will find out a lot more about the 2023 Sooners at the Texas State Fair. At the very least, they can't do worse than last year!
Oregon State Beavers Huge bounceback win against Utah, nothing more to add than that.
Duke Blue Devils What a heartbreaker.
Missouri Tigers They keep piling on more wins. Maybe the SEC race is interesting for them afterall.
Kentucky Wildcats As a Gator fan: Damn. What a true physical performance and coaching job from Stoops though.
Ole Miss Rebels Huge way to bounceback with a shootout of a game against LSU. Still not comfortable ranking them higher than this range just yet.
Utah Utes They lasted without Rising until they couldn't. What a shame, would have been fun to see what Utah could have done with Rising against Oregon State.
Kansas State Wildcats An idle week didn't hurt them. Can probably pile up a few more wins before Texas too.
Fresno State Bulldogs Good win to open up conference play, as they remain in the driver's seat to hold the G5 banner.
Louisville Cardinals I don't know what to make of Louisville other than 5-0. Still, credit to the campus hero in Brohm for getting Louisville to win games that they undoubtedly would have dropped under Satterfield.
Maryland Terrapins Must be the end of September.
