Overall Rationale: Just Personal Opinon
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Ohio State Buckeyes | The Buckeyes land on the top spot because they have yet to struggle with any opponents, their schedule does toughen up in the coming weeks so we'll see if OSU can continue to dominate. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Georgia has returned to their defending Champion structure, with back-to-back victories against Auburn and Vandy. Had it not been for struggles with Mizzou and Kent St, the Bulldogs could find themselves in the top Spot. |
| Clemson Tigers | Clemson has several impressive wins on ranked teams such as NC State & Wake Forest landing them a spot in the top 4 with a game against the Orange next week, Dabo definitely has a chance to improve his resume. |
| Michigan Wolverines | The Wolverines have definitely silenced some hate this weekend with their first big win against Penn State, which was done in dominant fashion. Michigan is on pace to return to the playoffs if they can keep things up for the rest of the season. |
| Tennessee Volunteers | Having the Vols outside the top 4 will be controversial, however, I just need to see more from this Volunteer team if I'm going to have them in the top 4. Luckily we'll see them against the Wildcats in 2 weeks. |
| UCLA Bruins | UCLA is underrated for me so far, they have had several impressive wins against ranked teams such as Washington and Utah. They'll face another challenge this week as they play Oregon. |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | The Rolling Tide suffered a disappointing loss under the lights, which drops them out of the top 4. However, Nick Saban told his team after losing at Tennessee that every goal was still attainable, the depth of this team is more then enough to get them back in the playoff race. |
| Oregon Ducks | The Ducks have certainly clawed themselves into consideration following an embarrassing loss against Georgia in week 1. Definitely would like to see more from their defense, as they play a tough game against UCLA next week. |
| Ole Miss Rebels | The Rebs have great offensive production so far, but have so-so defense giving up 27 from Tulsa and 28 from Vandy, so the defense holds Lane Kiffin's team from truly suceeding. |
| TCU Horned Frogs | Sonny Dykes has coached TCU to Bowl eligibility for the first time since 2018, the Horned Frogs are a prime position to make a run at the Big 12 Championship. Looking to see alot more from this Team. |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | The Pokes let a win slip away against TCU, with a double OT loss. However, this loss is relatively acceptable, despite a comeback from TCU. They will need to bounce back against Texas to make a shot at the top 10. |
| Syracuse Orange | The Orange have impressed many including myself with this undefeated streak. If the Orange's defense can remain as impressive as it has been throughout the season, the Orange could make a run at the ACC Title and maybe even the playoffs. |
| Wake Forest Demon Deacons | Wake Forest played impressive games against ranked opponents this year, with a close loss to Clemson and a win against Florida State, however they will face a tough second half of the season, let's see how they play out. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | The undefeated Nittany Lions looked to answer doubters with a win in the Big House, however, they were crushed in the big house. All, however, is not lost as a 1 Loss Penn State team could still make a run at the playoffs. |
| USC Trojans | The loss to Utah certainly changes the tone of USC's season so far, as the first-ranked team USC has faced. The Trojans will certainly face questions on how well they can preform against teams like UCLA. |
| Utah Utes | On the flip side to the Trojans, the Utes proved their worth against USC. Proving that the team can hang with the PAC-12 Elite despite two losses, I think the Utes have a shot at defending their PAC-12 Title. |
| Kentucky Wildcats | The Wildcats were in a must-win situation against visiting Mississippi State after consecutive losses and got it done with a 27-17 win. However, they ended up getting it done hence the #17 spot in this ranking. |
| Kansas State Wildcats | The Wildcats had a bye this week, and they are 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12, with that one surprising loss coming at home to Tulane. Adrian Martinez has looked much better in Manhattan, and has been a key to this wildcat team |
| Illinois Fighting Illini | Chase Brown has been very impressive as the Illini Runningback much like this Illini team, it came out of nowhere. After beating a tough test in Minnesota, the Illini became the sole leaders in the Big Ten West. |
| Texas Longhorns | They Struggled in this game against Iowa State, however, Texas remains ranked with a win. A comeback win puts the longhorns already better then last year's team as the Long Horns look for redemption. |
| North Carolina Tar Heels | The Tar Heels have the inside track to the conference title game, however, they have struggled a lot with 4 one score victories including the last 2. I defintley want to see the Tar Heels win by more if they seek to rise in theese rankings. |
| Cincinnati Bearcats | Senior quarterback Ben Bryant, the transfer from Eastern Michigan has helped spark the Cincinnati offense to gain in yardage throughout the six games he's started and credit for the defensive for it's top-tier package. This isn't last year's team by any means but it still is a top tier G5 School. |
| Mississippi State Bulldogs | The Bulldogs have been one of the more difficult teams to figure out in the SEC, they looked like they could become a top-tier team with a win against Kentucky, but then had offensive struggles, so they will hang out here near the bottom of the top 25. |
| NC State Wolfpack | Without Devin Leary, NC State has struggled against Syracuse losing 24-9. We'll see how Jack Chambers can adjust and attempt to keep this team steady following the bye week including an assessment if a Leary-less team is worthy of a top 25 placement. |
| South Alabama Jaguars | Two Words, USA is under-rated, and the Jags are just a one-loss team with that loss being a game-winning UCLA football. I would definitely say that this team is a dark house team to keep your eyes on, for a upset in a bowl game. |
