2	Cincinnati Bearcats	yes, Cincinnati has had two ugly wins against subpar opposition. But they're undefeated and other teams that were ranked this high (Iowa!) have LOST those games against subpar opposition.
3	Oklahoma Sooners	yes, Oklahoma has had a lot of ugly wins against subpar opposition. But...
4	Alabama Crimson Tide	Alabama is the best one-loss team in the nation and are probably better than the 2 teams ranked above them. But they're still a one-loss team. And with the way the SEC West is going, they've got 2 brutal games left on their schedule (Iron Bowl and SECCG). Two chances to prove out whether or not they belong in the playoff conversation.
5	Michigan State Spartans
6	Ohio State Buckeyes	as far as the eye test goes, the Buckeyes are REALLY good. Yes, they lost at home to an Oregon team that played them closely and then has had some ugly wins and an upset loss. But in a conference with Penn State, Iowa, etc, Ohio State looks REALLY convincing.
7	Oregon Ducks	Oregon often plays up or down to their opposition. On net, though, they're talented and might finish the season with one loss.
8	Notre Dame Fighting Irish
9	Michigan Wolverines
10	Wake Forest Demon Deacons	as we all suspected, Wake and Pitt are the pride of the ACC.
11	Oklahoma State Cowboys
12	Auburn Tigers	always hard to tell what to expect from this team. The Penn St loss hasn't aged well but they're still the only team (!) that's had a lead against UGA. Again, Iron Bowl is gonna be interesting especially with a shot at Atlanta very likely on the line. But before that, they've got to take care of the Aggies.
13	Texas A&M Aggies
14	Baylor Bears	Baylor under Dave Aranda has quietly put together a big season. They haven't arrived yet, but with Texas still in a rebuild, they're just outside the summit of the conference. Oklahoma and Oklahoma St have looked vulnerable.
