Buckeyes2010 Ballot for 2021 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 11, 2021, 11:41 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Midway through the season, the Dawgs are easily the best and most talented team on paper and on the field. The trophy is Georgia's to lose this year
Iowa Hawkeyes Smothering defense. "Meh" offense. The Hawkeyes have proven themselves a formidable team. Iowa has one of the strongest arguments for CFP discussion and is in the driver's seat.
Oklahoma Sooners Very shaky team. Saved by Caleb Williams and the benching of Rattler, the Sooners are showing themselves to be forged by fire. I have no idea if this will be a team that will choke to a decent opponent or if they will have ice in their veins when December rolls around.
Cincinnati Bearcats The main beneficiary of a chaotic season. Weak SoS makes it difficult to judge their true worth. Unless they run up the score on their meddling conference, it will be hard to argue the Bearcats over a one-loss P5 conference champ.
Ohio State Buckeyes The difference between September and October's Buckeyes team is night and day. The offense is firing on all cylinders and the defense is stepping it up. This young squad is starting to get some confidence just in time for the meat of their schedule. If they can survive the B1G East, they will all but erase their early-season blemish.
Alabama Crimson Tide Not the Bama you're used to. This team is mortal and vulnerable. However, they are still Bama and still coached by Nick Saban. A vengeful Saban is likely to wreak havoc on the SEC West. Will UGA be ready?
Oregon Ducks Sitting squarely in tier #3 is Oregon. While the Ducks' loss to Stanford makes their road to the playoffs a struggle, they still have one of the best wins in college football against OSU in The Shoe.
Michigan Wolverines They keep winning while the CFP world around them falls into chaos. This is one of Harbaugh's years where he gives UofM fans so much hope, only to be dashed by stronger divisional opponents in Penn State and Ohio State.
Penn State Nittany Lions Better than their ranking shows. Without their injury, they would be sitting at #2. When healthy, Penn State is among the best in the nation. They still have a shot at revenge in the B1G CCG and the playoffs.
Michigan State Spartans Miracle turnaround from last year's team. Will the Spartans finish the year in the top 10? Likely not. However, their 6-0 accomplishment is noteworthy. Big Ten, do not sleep on Michigan State.
Kentucky Wildcats
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Ole Miss Rebels
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Arizona State Sun Devils
Arkansas Razorbacks
Florida Gators
BYU Cougars
Texas A&M Aggies
NC State Wolfpack
SMU Mustangs
San Diego State Aztecs
Baylor Bears
