Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Nothing has changed to question my faith they are the best team in the league and the favorite to win the title. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | A truly elite defense combined with an acceptable offense. I am not quite yet sold on the hype, at least not as much as some, that their offense is truly elite and question how it will perform against the better teams of the SEC. Will we something closer to the Clemson game where no offensive touchdown occur or something more like against Vandy where they beat the pants off of them? My guess somewhere in the middle, but heavily tilted to the lower side. They seem like they would put up 25-34 on a good defense, but they're not Bama or OU who will score anyone seemingly at will. |
| Oregon Ducks | Best win in CFB so far, their second best win against Fresno State looks even more impressive, and their offensive identity seems to be back. They are incredibly adept at running the ball which is where historically a lot of Oregon success has come from. I don't love Anthony Brown but he seems somewhat acceptable. |
| Arkansas Razorbacks | Can someone explain why Arkansas isn't over Penn State in everyone's rankings? Is it just poll inertia? Dominant wins over Texas A&M this week and Texas two weeks prior is way more impressive than close wins over Auburn and Wisconsin since Arkansas has the higher quality opponents AND beat them by more. What makes me even sadder is knowing that those same people will likely unfairly punish Arkansas for their loss to Georgia presuming they do lose on Saturday. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | Wins over Auburn and Wisconsin now appear significantly less impressive after Auburn struggled against Georgia State and Wisconsin got obliterated by a decent but not spectacular Notre Dame after an impressive 4th quarter meltdown. Luckily for them OU sucks and struggled against WVU so they get to stay 5th...for now |
| Oklahoma Sooners | OU sucks and barely beat WVU. Loud chants calling for Caleb to start could be heard from the field. Not a good showing at all. OU despite sucking is still a very strong team. OU Sucks. |
| Iowa Hawkeyes | Iowa is a very overrated team in my opinion and their in ability to dominate teams and truly run up the score worries me when it comes to the potency of their offensive attack and their ability to keep up in a shootout and more importantly, score sufficiently on elite defenses, something they've managed to avoid so far. Even against Iowa State, which I'd only classify in the "very good" defenses, Iowa still struggled, getting like 150 yards of offense, thriving largely only on 3 INTs from Brock Purdy. |
| Cincinnati Bearcats | Beat Indiana by less than Iowa so for common opponent reasons I for ro leave them below given nothing special on the schedule from Cinci yet. ND will be the test that puts them in the top 4 if they win |
| Florida Gators | Quality Loss (TM) to Bama and good showing against Tennessee. Florida looks like a really strong all around team. Emory Jones can score. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | Very overrated. Their offense is anemic, Jack Can is not a good quarterback, their defense is good but the run of success they've seen so far, especially on the turnover front is unsustainable. I will be forced to put ND at 4 if they win, but I won't like it. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | A solid team that needs to work out kinks at QB and maybe second part of the season they tear up whatever godforsaken team has to run through that buzz saw. Good showing against Akron ultimately means little. |
| Ole Miss Rebels | I struggled to put them this high but hey 3-0 is 3-0. All aboard the Lane train |
| BYU Cougars | I don't like how they let up on the gas against USF but the 3 P5 wins even if against the middle and the dregs of the Pac-12 still is impressive. They have a penchant for close games even against terrible teams like Arizona. which sours me on them a bit. |
| Fresno State Bulldogs | Haener is a beast. Great win against UCLA, quality loss to Oregon, and Haener looked great with 5 TDs against UNLV. |
| Coastal Carolina Chanticleers | Chanticleers are so fucking cool as a team name. That being said they played Buffalo close and Buffalo couldn't even beat Nebraska. In fact they got trounced by Nebraska. Even Illinois beat Nebraska. Illinois! They dropped 50+ on Umas which was cool though. |
| UCLA Bruins | DTR won the duel with Tanner McKee and UCLA picks up a great P5 win to compliment their resume. Great team, great potential. |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | 4-0 with a respectable win against a fringe ranked team in State is a great start for the Pokes and warrants an entrance at 18. |
| Auburn Tigers | Stop being Cardiac Auburn and you go up. |
| Maryland Terrapins | Beat a West Virginia team that beat a Virginia Tech team that beat a UNC team that isn't half bad |
| Michigan Wolverines | A win by a single TD against Buttgers? UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH WHY DO YOU ALWAYS LET ME DOWN! EVEN WHEN I PRE-DISAPPOINTMENT MYSELF AS A COPING MECHANISM MICHIGAN STILL DISAPPOINTS.Michigan and Texas...sigh |
| Texas A&M Aggies | A: "You're ass, my dude."  B: "Are you calling me a fish?"  A: "No, that's a Chilean sea bass, my dude. You're ass, my dude."  B: "Are you calling me an alloy of copper and zinc?" A: "No that's brass, my dude.  You're ass, my dude." B: "I'm getting invaded by Putin?" A:"No that's Donbas, my dude. You're ass, my dude." B: "I'm the main ingredient in root beer?" A: "No that's Sassafras. You're ass, my dude." B: "Wait am I Texas A&M?" A: "Yup. You're ass, my dude." After all that trash talk they get manhandled by Arkansas. Jesus. |
| West Virginia Mountaineers | They're going to lose a game because they throw a horns down at a random Big XII team's fans and then they will light couches on fire. Before that they'll win some games because they're a half decent team that beat a Virginia Tech team than beat UNC. |
| Michigan State Spartans | OT against Nebraska? Even Illinois beat Nebraska. Illinois!  |
| Baylor Bears | Iowa State is a semi decent win that has vaulted the Big 10's Iowa to the top 8. Surely it can justify a 24th for Baylor, then? |
| Clemson Tigers | lol |
