Ch-i-ef Ballot for 2021 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 26, 2021, 5:57 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide I've had Ole Miss vs Alabama on my radar for a while now, and now we're going to get a taste of 2 great offenses.
Georgia Bulldogs Your greatest foe yet: not some overrated Clemson team devoid of any offensive structure, but a battle tested, top 10...Arkansas?? This is the most chaotic timeline and I'm here for it!
Oregon Ducks Pac12 after dark was giving the Ducks a scare, then they remembered they're facing Arizona at home. No Pac12 cannibalism...yet...
Penn State Nittany Lions Ok Auburn is actually bad, but at least you're playing consistently at a high level. Don't look too far ahead to Iowa or you might fall for a trap game in Indiana (need you be reminded of the outcome last season).
Iowa Hawkeyes And that's Big Ten football baby! Never a doubt! Also, be glad you're gonna miss out on Spooky, Scary, September Maryland by a whole day.
Cincinnati Bearcats Your last game was extremely sloppy, but you did end up beating a Power 5 opponent, and now you face a much tougher one in Notre Dame. The bye week you had will give you extra time to prep for a tough Notre Dame team.
Oklahoma Sooners On one hand, I feel unimpressed watching this offense being almost carried by the defense, but on the other hand, you're still winning games. Vengeance for the past years is on the mind now with Kansas State up next.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish It's been rough waters putting together a win every week, but you've put it together now with Brian Kelly's 106th win. No time to celebrate as you have a hungry team in Cincinnati coming to town.
Arkansas Razorbacks Top 10 Arkansas was not on my CFB 2021 Bingo Card, but I'm here for it. After conquering the teams in Texas, you move eastward to Georgia. Your biggest challenge yet; time to see how legit you are!
Ole Miss Rebels A tale of 2 offenses and (hopefully) no defenses to get in the way, Ole Miss vs Alabama is gonna (hopefully) be a fun one!
Florida Gators Nothing like a nice bye game...and probably more to follow since Georgia might be the only tough opponent left?
Ohio State Buckeyes The pope himself has given up on your team. Dark days ahead for the Buckeyes.
BYU Cougars Pac12 South Leader BYU continues their dominance as per usual.
Michigan Wolverines Michigan fans aren't saying anything, not talking any trash, not getting hyped up; they're just taking everything as it comes.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers RIP my Liberty undefeated predictions. Alright CC, I'm placing that responsibility on you now, don't mess it up!
Texas A&M Aggies Might wanna figure out that 'offense' thing Aggies..
Michigan State Spartans Michigan (State) fans aren't saying anything, not talking any trash, not getting hyped up; they're just taking everything as it comes.
Maryland Terrapins Farewell Spooky September Maryland, you were fun as hell to watch as is every year. Now Mediocre October Maryland is in, with their first opponent being...Iowa...oof.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Cowboys winning a game by more than 1 possession? Next you're gonna tell me you're actually gonna beat a ranked Baylor team or say that you have a chance against a subpar Oklahoma team?...because, well, that could all actually happen.
Baylor Bears Both Oklahoma's and BYU on the remaining schedule is tough, but not as impossible as it seemed in the past. Who knows how good the Bears are?
Fresno State Bulldogs Weekly scheduled comment of Jake Haener for Heisman.
NC State Wolfpack Ladies and Gentlemen, your ACC Leader: NC State.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Ladies and Gentlemen, your undefeated and ACC Leader Contender: Wake Forest.
SMU Mustangs The Pony Express rides again!
UCLA Bruins Would like to thank UCLA again for sacrificing their high rank for the Jake Haener Heisman Campaign. Tough to say, but the Bruins still look legit after a close slip-up against the Bulldogs last week.
