owlalwaysloveyew Ballot for 2021 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 12, 2021, 9:52 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide #1 until further notice. Does anything else need to be said?
Georgia Bulldogs Even with the starting QB out, Georgia easily handled UAB, a solid G5 team
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma enjoyed their bye week. I mean, they enjoyed a 70+ point win over Western Carolina
Oregon Ducks Oregon finally beat Ohio State in the 10th matchup of the series, and in Ohio no less! Does Pac 12 finally have an elite team again? It feels too early to say so, but the Ducks are deserving of a top 4 spot.
Clemson Tigers Easy W
Cincinnati Bearcats Cincinnati struggled in the first half of the game against Murray State, going into halftime 7-7. The 42-7 score is more respectable for the CFP hopeful. Cincy faces Indiana and Notre Dame next
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa handled Iowa State in a top 10 matchup between the rivals. They are looking like the team to beat in the Big 10 west.
Florida Gators Can Florida knock off Bama? Probably not, but I'm sure they'll be ranked high going into the game!
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State suffered their first loss at home since 2017. I think they need a new defensive coordinator.
Texas A&M Aggies Colorado looked poised for an upset, but TA&M squeaked by with a late go-ahead TD for a 10-7 victory
UCLA Bruins Moving up on a bye week. UCLA played week 0 so they didn't play this weekend. A hyped up Fresno State is next on the schedule.
Arkansas Razorbacks Texas is not back. Final score: 40-21
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State easily handled Ball State ahead of their game against Auburn, a highly anticipated matchup for fans. Their series is tied and hasn't been played since 2003.
Virginia Tech Hokies Solid win against MTSU. WVU is next up on the schedule.
Mississippi State Bulldogs MS State handled NC State easily, in what vegas expected to be a close matchup. They face Memphis before jumping into conference play.
Boston College Eagles BC faces their first real challenge of the season next weekend against Mizzou
Miami Hurricanes Miami appears to have all the pieces except for coaching. Some of the calls against App State were confusing, but they have a high ceiling for the season if they dial that in and King remains healthy
UCF Knights UCF won by 49 points over Bethune-Cookman. They face Louisville on Friday
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Coastal covered a 25.5 point spread against Kansas, the highest spread of a G5 team over a P5 team since 2008. Buffalo is the team's next matchup and may prove to be one of the only tough matchups on a relatively easy schedule.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish It came down to a game winning TD drive to beat Toledo (!!!) for Notre Dame. At least the game was on Peacock so not many people saw it. Notre Dame's overtime win against FSU now seems less impressive now that FSU lost to an FCS team.
Auburn Tigers Auburn easily handled its two first games, but faces its first P5 opponent in a game against Penn State this coming weekend
Liberty Flames With Liberty's win over Troy, they have now won 14 of their last 15 games, with their only loss being a 1-pt loss to NC State last year
BYU Cougars Finally beat Utah after 9 straight losses! They look like they aren't skipping a beat without their star QB from last year
Marshall Thundering Herd After a dominating win against Navy in week 1, Marshall look like they are back to their early season look from last year. A matchup against rival ECU is next.
Appalachian State Mountaineers Appalachian State lost to #22 Miami by 2 points at Hard Rock Stadium. App State hasn't beaten a ranked opponent since Michigan in 2007 and can't quite get over the hump. They still appear poised to be one of the top G5 squads in the country, even if NY6 hopes have been dashed.
