1 LSU Tigers This shouldn't even be a question.
2 Ohio State Buckeyes The Buckeyes stay at number two in my poll following a trouncing of Maryland.
3 Clemson Tigers I have a hard time buying Clemson as the third-best team in the country, but an even harder time coming up with an alternative.
4 Minnesota Golden Gophers Minnesota finally got the win they needed to make the jump into the top four.
5 Georgia Bulldogs Georgia has some good wins this season, and will hope to add another in LSU before season's end.
6 Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State's loss was a rough one, but they still have a shot to bounce back and make the playoffs.
7 Alabama Crimson Tide At this point, Alabama's most notable game is their loss, which isn't a great thing.
8 Oregon Ducks Oregon seems like a very good team, but they're on the wrong end of my sudden being-undefeated-is-good kick.
9 Utah Utes The Utes are still challenging for the Pac-12 and have looked good generally.
10 Baylor Bears Baylor won, but it's hard to call it that.
11 Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma's loss losing isn't the best for them.
12 Florida Gators The Gators stomped Vanderbilt, but that isn't the most jaw-dropping thing.
13 Auburn Tigers Once again, Auburn's in basically the same situation as Florida, only slightly worse.
14 Memphis Tigers The Tigers still look like one of the top teams coming out of the American.
15 SMU Mustangs Despite their loss earlier in the season, SMU still looks like a solid team and sits at 15th in my poll.
16 Wisconsin Badgers A close win over Iowa propels the Badgers upward.
17 Michigan Wolverines Michigan is looking more and more like an actual team and will have the opportunity to demonstrate that when they take on the Spartans.
18 Cincinnati Bearcats The Bearcats aren't ranked quite as highly as the other American teams, but they've still had a great season to this point (and excluding that blowout loss to Ohio State).
19 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame climbs back into my top 20, despite being pretty unimpressive to me so far this season.
20 Appalachian State Mountaineers App State bounced back in a big way and climbs into the top 20.
21 Boise State Broncos Boise State winning a close game isn't the best for them, but Wyoming's a decent team, and they did win, which helps.
22 Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa's loss to Wisconsin doesn't do them any favors, but they've had a pretty rough go of things schedule-wise so far.
23 Indiana Hoosiers Indiana has looked surprisingly good so far this season and will hope to finish the season out strong.
24 Navy Midshipmen Navy finally makes the jump for me here at 7-1.
25 North Dakota State Bison The Bison continue to roll over their opponents and are holding firm in my rankings.
