crimsonlaw Ballot for 2019 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 30, 2019, 4:26 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I was at my wife's cousin's wedding all day on Saturday, so my opinions are especially uninformed this week. I hate weddings. And I despise fall weddings.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers I saw what Clemson had to do to stay undefeated, but they are still undefeated.  They keep the top spot.
LSU Tigers I'm still convinced that right now the Tigers are the best team in the SEC.
Auburn Tigers The Aubies ran over the Bulldogs of Mississippi State this weekend. I've got these Tigers ranked high because of their awesome resume.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State is so much better than I thought they would be in 2019. Thrashing Nebraska still means something to me.
Georgia Bulldogs Gotta love the UGAs. They are going to have a damn good resume by the time this season ends!
Alabama Crimson Tide I'm really worried about this defense, but the offensive is amazing. But I really need to see what the Tide does against a quality team before I'm completely sold on them.
Oklahoma Sooners Love how Oklahoma has been playing, but I can't wait until they face a real team.
Wisconsin Badgers What happened this week, Wisconsin? Why you allowing these 4Q TDs? You have to dominate the entire game if you want to be a champion!
Penn State Nittany Lions Maryland gets another shut-out! Just not the kind they would ask for. Go Nittany Lions! Let's just hope you aren't paper tigers when you get to the meat of your schedule.
Texas Longhorns Nothing much to say other than I think Texas is really good and may take the Big 12 title this year.
Oregon Ducks Still giving them some love based on how close they were to defeating Auburn.
Florida Gators An SEC that is still undefeated has to be blessed with a high ranking, right? Let's see if they can over going 0-2 against Auburn and LSU. Then they will earn my respect.
Iowa Hawkeyes I really am not excited by Iowa, but dang if they just don't lose. I can respect a team like that. Let's see if they can keep the streak going against a not-horrible Michigan team this weekend.
Utah Utes Nice little win by the Utes over a dangerous Washington State team. Still don't understand the USC loss, but I still have high hopes for this team.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Beating Virginia and playing Georgia tough gets them here.
Washington Huskies The Huskies are a good little team that those of us on the Eastern side of the US don't get to see play as often as we should. Taking down USC ain't too shabby.
Boise State Broncos Boise State is the best of the have-nots, and I'm sure they would give several of the blue bloods a scare. They'll no doubt bounce around the teens most of the season.
SMU Mustangs Go Mustangs! 5-0! Keep running them ponies and hiding the bodies!
Oklahoma State Cowboys Alright. I'm on board the Mullet Train. They only have one loss, a close defeat to Texas.
Minnesota Golden Gophers At this point, why not? They are undefeated, though they've had a soft schedule. Could be a little bit of a nice team when the season is said and done.
Arizona State Sun Devils How did this team lose to Colorado? They are too good for that blemish.
Duke Blue Devils The Dukies' only loss is to Alabama and they throttled Virginia Tech. I'll give them a spot in my poll for that.
UCF Knights I'm keeping the Knights in as a courtesy to what they have accomplished recently and because their only lose is by one point to Pitt. Still a dangerous team, but they are out of chances to really inpress us.
Michigan Wolverines I don't like this Michigan team. Despite having all the talent in the world, they play like a JV squad. But when things start clicking, they are pretty good. I loss to Iowa will confirm what I suspect about this team: they are lacking leadership and focus.
Michigan State Spartans The Spartans have looked pretty decent since that close loss against Arizona State. They are as deserving as about six or seven other teams for a ranking. I'll take Michigan State this week.
