chrisb19 Ballot for 2018 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 8, 2018, 11:32 a.m.

Overall Rationale: In general for this poll I think a lot of teams are ranked too high (basically 9-13), but it's hard to argue with some of the results. There's still a ton of separation between the top 4 teams and the rest of the pack. I don't get why people are so high on Notre Dame - they struggled to put away an unimpressive Vanderbilt squad that Georgia just ran right over. The Big XII is a shitshow and I don't know who the best team there is, at all. Washington's been unimpressive but they keep doing just enough to stay around. Michigan has been very unimpressive this season but again, it's hard to devalue a 5-1 record too much. Oklahoma lost to Texas after almost shitting the bed against Army. Miami looked bad against FSU until some typical Mark Richt 4th quarter heroics (in a game he should have put away before the 4th quarter). Washington State's only loss was a nailbiter against USC and we're deep enough into the season that a 5-1 record in the P5 is worth getting in the rankings. In general, it still feels like Alabama is on another plane of existence, UGA, Ohio St, Clemson, and ND are poised for a real shot at the playoff, and then there's a precipitous drop in overall quality.
