W_Is_For_Will Ballot for 2018 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 2, 2018, 6:58 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Originally I had planned on reviewing teams based on the scoreboard. Win's over everything and quality of the wins can dictate location on the top 25. It has been fun ranking all teams with undefeated records and analyzing what I believe to be the best wins of the week but now I have stumbled upon a curious question, "If I rank teams based on that week's wins and the quality of those wins will I end up with a final year end poll that determines the appropriate final four?" After the preparation of these polls I will work out a way to prepare an adjusted poll which includes the average team rankings from my week to week rankings. This should be a good indicator of who I truly believe has the hardest schedule and best overall season performance.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes Undefeated, Beat top 10 opponent.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Undefeated. Beat top 10 opponent.
LSU Tigers Undefeated. Beat a really good Ole Miss offense, but also beat a really bad Ole Miss defense.
Kentucky Wildcats Undefeated. Beat a South Carolina team that we all thought would do well this year.
Oklahoma Sooners Undefeated. Destroyed a Baylor team that we expected them to destroy. Baylor is still building.
Georgia Bulldogs Undefeated. Throttled opponent, not an impressive scheduled school though.
Alabama Crimson Tide Undefeated. Throttled opponent, not an impressive scheduled school though.
Cincinnati Bearcats Undefeated. Smashed UCON, which others have done.
Clemson Tigers Undefeated... but just barely.
West Virginia Mountaineers Undefeated, beat a potentially good Tech team, but also allowed them to claw back and nearly win.
NC State Wolfpack Undefeated. Beat their in conference opponent.
UCF Knights Undefeated. Eat Shit Pitt.
Colorado Buffaloes Undefeated. Colorado is quietly an undefeated PAC-12 team. Man handled a very sad and bad UCLA.
Washington Huskies 4-1, defeated a Top 20 ranked BYU.
Oregon Ducks 4-1, defeated a top 25 ranked Cal.
Florida Gators 4-1 with a win against a top 25 ranked Miss. State that may be bad this year.
Miami Hurricanes 4-1, defeated in conference opponent.
Texas Longhorns 4-1. Beat their in conference opponent that may or may not be good this year. However, K-State was clawing back in the 3Q and 4Q.
Washington State Cougars 4-1, Beat in conference opponent.
Michigan Wolverines 4-1, Scoreboard appears to show them nearly losing to a pretty good Northwestern team.
Boston College Eagles
Indiana Hoosiers
Syracuse Orange
Auburn Tigers 4-1, played Georgia Southern and looking at the score did not do too well against them but got the W.
Penn State Nittany Lions 4-1, Losses do not typically get ranked based on my methodology. However, after reviewing the remaining 4-1 games where they played poor opponents I am left with a 4-1 team that had the best loss out of any of the remaining teams. A loss against the top 5 team in the nation by 1 point.
