Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Well they have a Top CFB QB. Its going to be hard as shit to keep them from #1. Honestly I don't think any team has a shot until LSU in November. Even then they will be coming off a bye week!  |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Mizzou and SC are solid wins. But LSU deserves to be ranked higher based off of wins. The only reason I don't is because I have a lot more faith in UGA's QB(s), AND just believe UGA has more talent. However this will be settled in 2 weeks when they play eachother.  |
| LSU Tigers | They have the best wins so far, without a doubt. But the two teams above them have EASILY handled all their opponents. If they beat UF this week, they might sneak above UGA entering their game with eachother. I both am very impressed with them thus far, but also have barely any trust in them to keep it up.  |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | They stomped Stanford. Combined with the close win vs Michigan to start the season, they deserve to be ranked top 5. However I believe they will regress back down once other teams start playing quality opponents. I think they might lose to VTech on the road. FSU and USC while they aren't very good, I think those are 2 teams that have the athleticism to beat ND. Up to this point their big games have been against teams that play their brand of power football. I think you beat ND with Speed.  |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | The only team other than LSU with a win vs a top10 team according to my rankings. Most people probably have them top3 after this weekend. But I wasn't all that impressed with tOSU this week. I think PSU played better. And I think Haskins wasn't very good. Combine that with the TCU game which I think they definitely didn't play good until the 4th quarter when they just out talented TCU. They gotta prove it more to be ranked higher. But it was a win on the road, and I'm sure this win will look better and better as the season progresses. |
| Clemson Tigers | I said last week that I think Syracuse could beat them. Honestly they have not looked good this season. They have way too much talent, to be playing this bad. Yeah they won, but Close wins vs Texas A&M and Syracuse, while good wins because I have them in my top25, just aren't good Enough. I'm not someone who cares about MOV all that much, but you gotta do better than that. Mostly I'm disappointed in Clemsons defense.  |
| Oklahoma Sooners | I can't rank them ahead of Clemson. Clemson is more talented, and has wins against better teams, and its not even like Oklahoma has blown out every team they played either - They went into OT with Army! Their defense just hasn't been very good. But this is where the season really starts for OU. They got a real nice schedule from here on out. |
| Auburn Tigers | Win vs Washington and that last second FG loss to LSU is looking better and better. They have a solid MSSt team up next who they should handle, then an easy one vs UT before they end the season with really tough games. I don't expect them to get much higher than this unless they beat UGA |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | They looked better than tOSU, but they blew it. I actually have them moving up one spot cause Stanford got destroyed by ND. The only thing is, like AU I don't expect them to move up much higher until they play Michigan. I think MSU is overrated by like everyone though. McSorley played great though. Not the most consistent thrower, but kids just a good football player. |
| Miami Hurricanes | Took care of business against UNC. Nkosi Perry started and finished the game! This is a different team than the one that played LSU. Miami and Michigan are the only two teams allowing less than 4ypp on defense. They have the best 3rd down Defense%, leading the nation by far in TFLs, Top talent with an actual QB on offense, and a defense that creates havoc (but gets gashed at times). Big rivalry game against FSU up next - and FSU will likely play the best game of their season. |
| West Virginia Mountaineers | Too bad the NCSt game got cancelled, that could have helped quite a bit for their SOS up to this point. Beat a good Texas Tech team. Eltie CFB Qb with good offensive talent. Like I said before their season is won or lost with the last 4 games of the season. |
| Stanford Cardinal | Got throttled by ND. At least it was on the road. And their win vs Oregon is still better than UW or UM's wins. If they play how they did that last two weeks against UW, They're not winning the P12. |
| Washington Huskies | Neck and Neck with Stanford at this point. Their loss was vs a worse team, and their win wasn't against as good of a team, so Stanford gets the edge. Absolutely destroyed a good BYU team though. Easy one vs UCLA next then 4 straight strong games.  |
| Michigan Wolverines | Close loss to ND isn't looking too bad right now. Their defense has played very well - top 10 rushing and top 5 pass D, and top 15 Scoring D all combine for the #1 Total D after 5 weeks and the #1 Defense on a Ypp basis. But even this week was just a 3 pt win in a game they didn't even take the lead until the 4th quarter against a bad Northwestern team. ...they are definitely on upset watch vs Maryland. In fact I won't be surprised if they lose this game.  |
| Kentucky Wildcats | Undefeated and won all games by double digits. They actually have the 2nd best Defensive Passing Efficiency in the country right now, and are tied for 3rd scoring defense with Auburn. Wins against UF, South Carolina, and MSSt are all solid - good wins, so maybe they should be ranked higher. But they're going to have to convince me even more with a win vs Texas A&M. They are winning the good games on their schedule so far, and after A&M, UGA, and Maybe Mizzou, they don't have a difficult schedule. The problem is if they don't beat UGA they will have a lot of solid wins, but no great win. AND they don't have the talent of a PSU or Miami. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | They actually dropped 2 spots on the bye week in my ranking. Their loss to BYU looks worse after UW just stomped them, and its not like their 3 wins are anything to speak about. We think Iowa is a solid/good win but they haven't proven they are either. And I entered the season thinking Wisconsin was a high floor low ceiling type team. The BYU game was one they shouldn't have lost. they're gunna have to beat UM and PSU.  |
| Oregon Ducks | After fumbling away the Stanford game, they came back and destroyed a solid Cal team. They got UW next, and if they beat them it'll go a long way for their P12 hopes cause after them its pretty smooth sailing to end the season. |
| UCF Knights | They destoryed Pitt at home, and they've wooped all the other teams they've played. Ultimately when the ONLY P5 team you play is ass, it just isn't a good enough SOS to get ranked top 10. Keep winning like I expect they will, and It'll prove they deserve some top15 recognition, but I'm just not going to rank a team that exlusively has what other teams consider warm up games. UCF needs USF and Cincinatti to win out until they play them. |
| Texas Longhorns | Got the win AT KSU. Was a good first half but a poor second half. But they held on to win it. Texas has only scored 14 points in the 4th quarter (2 Tds) in 5 games this season. But the big game is here. They can erase that maryland loss (wouldn't hurt if maryland upsets Michigan btw...) if they win vs OU. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | Big game vs Kentucky here. You can only stay ranked so long with 2 losses and no quality wins. I've kept them up here because I was impressed with their play vs Clemson and Alabama, but with how Syracuse just played Clemson better than A&M did, and the fact that Alabama really didn't struggle with them tbh, this game will probably determine if they stay in the top25 or stay out of the top25 for the rest of the season. Kentucky has shut down the pass pretty well this season and held teams to low points. Texas A&M showed good offense vs Bama, and they need that again this week. |
| Syracuse Orange | I said they could beat Clemson last week, and they almost did but they fell apart and gave up a 94 yard game winning drive. And that is the difference between having elite talent and not. If they were a more talented team, someone might have made a play and won the game for them. Instead Clemson had the guys making the plays to win it even with their 3rd string qb. But their wins have been as impressive or more impressive than all of UCF's, and if they blow out Pitt too, the only difference is that they actually played a top team - and almost won. |
| NC State Wolfpack | Honestly they're only ranked because they're undefeated and they've won by double digits every game. Its a shame the WVU game got cancelled though. But they got an Okay BC team next followed by Clemson and Syracuse. If they beat Syracuse they probably finish 2nd in the ACC Atlantic.  |
| Florida Gators | Well they lost to Kentucky which isn't so bad. They beat MSSt in an ugly game. Ultimately their defense has been very good this season. They lead the country in turnovers. Are 2nd to Miami in Passing yards allowed while being 6th in pass D efficiency. The problem is their run defense hasn't been very good, and they are about to play LSU who is good at running the ball and also have a great defense, and are more talented. |
