Alabama Crimson Tide
This is the first week this season where I've considered that Alabama might not deserve #1.  However, as the defending champs and obliterator of cupcakes, they cannot yet be ranked down.  There is no question that OSU has the best win of the season so far. |
| 2 |
Ohio State Buckeyes
Comeback win in a Happy Valley whiteout is the signature win of the season so far.  Ohio State is country tough.  IU is a trap game next week. |
| 3 |
Georgia Bulldogs
| 4 |
Clemson Tigers
Clemson has shown some cracks. |
| 5 |
Oklahoma Sooners
OU is debatable for the 4 spot but we need to see them play someone besides a down Baylor.  I am not sold on the Big 12 |
| 6 |
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
ND might not be all hype this season. |
| 7 |
LSU Tigers
October 13 will tell us a lot about where Coach O has LSU. |
| 8 |
Auburn Tigers
SEC West is a pretty incredible division.  I can't see anyone but OSU standing much of a chance against Bama, Georgia, LSU, or Auburn right now but it is still early in the season. |
| 9 |
Penn State Nittany Lions
PSU is a potential playoff team, Trace can ball, Franklin has built a monster.   |
| 10 |
Kentucky Wildcats
If UK can continue playing this strongly I will be very impressed with the program.  As of today the cats look legit. |
| 11 |
Wisconsin Badgers
This is a disciplined, no-nonsense football team.  Wisconsin may not be the flash but they are consistent and would give every team in the country some trouble.   BYU was a trap, fundamental Wisconsin football may not be sexy but it will win tough games. |
| 12 |
Washington Huskies
I really don't think Washington is as good as advertised.  They look flashy and fast but what would they do against a middling SEC or upper tier B1G school?  I think they'd run into a brick wall against even a Michigan or Iowa.  Given their wins and impressive offense, I put the huskies at 12.  I don't think week 1 against Auburn would be as close if played a few weeks into the season. |
| 13 |
West Virginia Mountaineers
Big 12 offenses are potent but how good is WV? |
| 14 |
Michigan Wolverines
This is a talented team and they showed some grit pulling it out against Northwestern.  I don't think they have the mental toughness necessary to win the B1G East but there is a lot of skill and speed on the roster. |
| 15 |
Stanford Cardinal
Stanford could be a fraud, I can't decide yet. |
| 16 |
UCF Knights
Need to see them play someone before placing UCF any higher with the thick dick P5 teams |
| 17 |
Oregon Ducks
| 18 |
Colorado Buffaloes
| 19 |
Michigan State Spartans
Handled CMU and then went to bed, this team might surprise some people and make a NY6 game. |
| 20 |
Florida Gators
| 21 |
Miami Hurricanes
| 22 |
Texas Longhorns
| 23 |
Syracuse Orange
Should probably be higher, this team is strong.  Never witnessed the Orange look so good, |
| 24 |
Texas A&M Aggies
| 25 |
Maryland Terrapins
