noahthearc Ballot for 2017 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 1, 2017, 12:42 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Clemson continues to roll through every opponent no matter their merit. With 3 Top 25 wins already, Clemson is an easy pick at #1.
Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama has rolled through their first two SEC opponents with a combined score of 125-3. At this pace, records will be broken. Despite these blowouts, Alabama stays at #2 because they haven't yet faced the tests that Clemson has.
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma comes off a bye stagnant.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State took down Indiana to stay at the top of the B1G East. They seem a favorite to make it to the B1G Championship game, but have the hardest tests yet to come.
Washington Huskies Washington seems to be sliding under the radar a bit. Everyone agrees this team is still elite, but they've hung around at the time without the notice of the other top teams. The Huskies could just surprise a few this season, yet.
Georgia Bulldogs The Bulldogs defense may be the best in the country. Certainly they can compete with the likes of Clemson and Alabama for the honor. Could the SEC East finally have a challenger to Alabama?
TCU Horned Frogs TCU is gearing up for a battle with West Virginia this week. Their road win over Oklahoma State stays as a statement of intent. This team can't be overlooked.
Washington State Cougars The Cougars pulled off the Friday Night Lights upset over USC this week. Wazzu is looking complete and ready to make a push for the Pac-12 North and potentially more.
Michigan Wolverines Michigan rested this week in preparation for their rival Spartans coming to town. The offense still looks unsettled, but the Wolverine defense has excelled so far.
Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin continues to win, but they haven't been exceptional at doing it. Too many question marks still for these Badgers for me to have them any higher.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State is great at beating down on the weak portions of their schedule, but have failed in their only test this season. It's hard to keep the Buckeyes down and as we get into the meat of the B1G schedule, Ohio State can prove themselves again.
Miami Hurricanes The Canes are looking solid on all sides of the ball, but they head to Tallahassee to face their bitter rivals FSU, who they've failed to beat in the last 7 tries. We'll see how hardy Miami is come Saturday.
USC Trojans USC faced a tough loss on the Palouse Friday night. The Trojans need to regroup for the season is not over. Everything is still on the tables.
Virginia Tech Hokies The Hokies were outclassed on their home field by the top ranked Clemson Tigers. Nothing to be ashamed about, but Tech still has to improve before they can be mentioned with the top teams. Despite the loss, the defense was solid at times and the offense showed glimpses of excellence. The Hokies are still a great team and can make some noise.
Oklahoma State Cowboys The Cowboys fought to victory in Lubbock this week. A good rebound victory after a tough home loss to TCU last week.
USF Bulls The Bulls ran up the score beating East Carolina. Can anyone in the American stand up to USF? We'll see, but for now it seems like all roads lead through Tampa in the AAC.
San Diego State Aztecs The Aztecs won a close one over NIU at home this week. Albeit, unimpressive, San Diego St has stockpiled a couple nice victories already and stays undefeated.
Auburn Tigers Auburn is how on many people's lists, but the Tigers still need to prove much to me. The defense is there, but can the offense be consistent?
Louisville Cardinals Louisville looks a strong team, but has failed their only test.
West Virginia Mountaineers
UCF Knights
Florida Gators
Utah Utes
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
NC State Wolfpack
