GilBrandt Ballot for 2017 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 2, 2017, 7:38 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Teams that just missed my ranking were Duke, NCState, Georgia Tech, SMU, and Texas Tech. Biggest changes (~5 spot change): Washington (6+), Washington St (11+), Auburn (14+), Virginia Tech (-5), UCF (5+), Miami (NEW), Florida (NEW), USC (-9), SDSU (NEW), Navy (NEW), Duke (UR), Wake Forest (UR), Miss State (UR), and Iowa (UR)

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Clemson looking impressive vs a VT team I had originally in the top 10. Also bumped them above Alabama due to a better resume so far.
Alabama Crimson Tide Jesus Alabama, Vandy and Ole Miss had families! Please be nice to my Aggies :(
Georgia Bulldogs Almost as impressive as Alabama's wins. Defense looking like a brick wall
TCU Horned Frogs Dropped a spot because of bye. Not really, Georgia just has a better resume in my eyes so far
Penn State Nittany Lions Still looking good with a impressive win over Indiana. Unfortunately Iowa lost again, but I didn't let that hurt you
Washington Huskies I've had a hard time trusting Washington again this season, but good wins the last couple games. Even though Ore St appears to be a dumpster fire
Michigan Wolverines Strong defense keeping y'all in the top 10 and Florida got into my rankings
Oklahoma Sooners Dropped since I don't believe your resume lets you jump anyone above you. Wouldn't be surprised if you climb up again, but do better than what you did vs Baylor
Washington State Cougars Damn, thanks for ruining my pick em. Not sure that you can stay in the top 10, but the pirate has been crafty so far. Burn those couches!
Wisconsin Badgers Just barely stayed in my top 10, but y'all should be good to stay in here. Northwestern may or may not be a solid win
Auburn Tigers Auburn defense looking strong and offense is coming together. People are saying Georgia might be the only team to stop Alabama in the SEC, but Auburn could be interesting
Virginia Tech Hokies Tough loss to Clemson, but still a good team
Oklahoma State Cowboys Close win in Lubbock that can be hard to play in. Hope the Pokes continue to do better since losing to TCU
Ohio State Buckeyes Solid win over Rutgers, but still need to see more vs better competition before I let you climb any higher
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Loss vs Georgia is looking better and better. Quality loss?
Louisville Cardinals Easy win. Not much to see here
UCF Knights Damn poor Memphis. Thought Memphis would be in my rankings for a few weeks. UCF trying to make a case as the best Florida team
Miami Hurricanes Solid win over a good Duke team
Florida Gators Still don't know what to think of Florida, but 3 P5 wins can't be ignored right now and a quality loss?
USC Trojans So Washington St came out of no where right? Darnold tanking instead of the Jets?
West Virginia Mountaineers Meh win over Kansas and a bye week. Start looking better or you might drop out
San Diego State Aztecs Still looking decent. Close win over an average NIU team
Utah Utes Still don't know what to think of Utah, but undefeated
USF Bulls Florida teams charging into my rankings (tried to use flooding or storming instead of charging, but that isn't so appropriate...)
Navy Midshipmen Navy still quietly undefeated. MERICA
