Ghost_of_Dude Ballot for 2017 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 1, 2017, 9:43 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I rank teams based on who I think is best, period. NEXT TEN OUT: NC State, Oregon, Texas Tech, Maryland, Navy, Minnesota, Florida State, Michigan State, SMU, Georgia Tech. DROPPED OUT: Mississippi State (Got blasted two weeks in a row and lol LSU looks like fucking trash), Minnesota.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide 125-3 over the past two games. The competition may not be world beaters, but still, jesus christ. Clemson has the better resume but it's hard to say whether or not they're better than Saban's Crimson Tide.
Clemson Tigers Another fantastic win for the Tigers. The team clearly hasn't lost any steam from last year and Alabama vs. Clemson part 3 looks like a very real possibility right now. They're below Alabama, but make no mistake, they're every bit as terrifying.
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma was off this week and holds steady at #3
Georgia Bulldogs Tennessee looks pretty terrible right now, but a 41-0 demolishing, in their own house no less, is still extremely impressive. With Notre Dame continuing to perform as well, Georgia is suddenly looking like a real playoff team at the moment, and they're clearly the best team in the SEC East. However, their path runs through SEC gatekeeper Alabama. There's still a lot of season left before that game though.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State handled Indiana with ease. Their drop is only a result of a good looking Georgia team.
Washington Huskies Washington started off slow against Oregon State, but the game never looked threatening. Their defense is stout and will keep them in most games if their offense starts off slow.
TCU Horned Frogs Off week for the Horned Frogs. They gained as a result of Wisconsin dropping.
Michigan Wolverines Same as TCU.
Wisconsin Badgers Meh. This team isn't looking as good as I think it should be. Hard to say what kind of team they are as they still have yet to be tested.
Washington State Cougars Washington State is legit this year, with an impressive win over the Trojans pushing them into the top 10. Interestingly, computer polls still aren't sold on this team.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State maintains after a 56-0 smattering of Rutgers. Not much to say until their true test at the end of this month.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Oklahoma State took care of business against a very solid Texas Tech team. They still look like a great team and I have no reason to think they won't continue to make a run at the Big XII title.
Miami Hurricanes Miami showed their worth against a good looking Duke team by absolutely dominating them on the road. They look to be Coastal favorites.
USC Trojans The Trojans are currently let down of the year. They've looked extremely unimpressive at times and Darnold is a turnover machine. I still think they can pull it together but they are very much underperforming right now and their issues were very prominent against Washington State.
Auburn Tigers They get a very slight edge over VT for playing a closer game against Clemson. Solid win over Mississippi State though they looked to be grossly overrated.
Virginia Tech Hokies A small drop after a respectable performance against an impressive Clemson team.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame's ranking is the epitome of #QualityLoss. Every impressive Georgia performance makes their one point loss look more and more impressive. Their easy wins are also helping their case. The tougher games where we'll really see what kind of team they are are coming soon.
USF Bulls USF holds steady after blasting ECU.
Louisville Cardinals Nothing to say after watching them bludgeon an FCS team.
Utah Utes Utah was off this week and holds #19
San Diego State Aztecs SDSU cruised to victory against Northern Illinois, and look to have a fairly straightforward path to the Mountain West title. Their biggest regular season game will be against Boise State in two weeks.
West Virginia Mountaineers The Mountaineers were off this weekend.
UCF Knights UCF's win over Maryland is looking solid and their blowout of Memphis grants them entry into the top 25.
Florida Gators They aren't exactly impressive but hey they're getting the job done I guess.
Stanford Cardinal It was between Stanford and NC State. Stanford gets the nod thanks to Massey Composite.
