CarbonCamaroZL1 Ballot for 2017 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 1, 2017, 1:08 p.m.

Overall Rationale: LSU AND MISSISSIPPI STATE ARE GONE! Good bye overrated SEC teams.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide 0 spots (previously 1). Kicked some Ole Miss ***.
Clemson Tigers 0 spots (previously 2). Went into Virginia Tech and managed to not only hold them from upsetting them, but nearly doubled the score on them and finally had a strong offensive AND defensive showing at the same time. Starting to truly look like a Playoff team now.
Oklahoma Sooners 0 spots (previously 3). Bye week.
Penn State Nittany Lions 0 spots (previously 4). Penn State's offense continues to light up everyone and everything. Their defense also did a very good job at holding off an offense that scored 21 points on the Ohio State defense.
Washington Huskies 0 spots (previously 5).
Georgia Bulldogs 1 spot (previously 7). Revenge for last year. Nice!
Michigan Wolverines -1 spot (previously 6). Bye week. Georgia looks a bit more impressive right now. We have a lot to prove.
Ohio State Buckeyes 0 spots (previously 8). I assume what will be the first shut out of Rutgers of many.
Wisconsin Badgers 0 spots (previously 9). A close matchup against Northwestern. Still got the win with a locked safety.
Washington State Cougars +2 spots (previously 12). Playing with the big leagues now, beating USC for the first time in 15 years. Strong offense and a strong defense. Top 10 work for sure.
TCU Horned Frogs +2 spots (previously 13). Bye week.
Miami Hurricanes +3 spots (previously 15). Dominated Duke.
Auburn Tigers +3 spots (previously 16). Another domination that Mississippi State did not sit on the right side of. After watching the game against Clemson, Auburn wasn't looking too great. But this game really showed their offense can perform and do it very well.
Virginia Tech Hokies -4 spots (previously 10). As much as I rooted for them and know they are a strong team, they didn't really compete well against Clemson. They did get one thing out of this, however. They got me to move WVU backwards 1 spot even though they had a bye week.
West Virginia Mountaineers -1 spot (previously 14). Bye week. I know they didn't play, but they don't exactly deserve to be ahead of Virginia Tech. VTech did lose to Clemson, a Playoff team.
USF Bulls +1 spot (previously 17). Dominated their competition as well. Even though it was only East Carolina.
USC Trojans -6 spots (previously 11). Again, I have said that USC is NOT a top 10 team. And again this past weekend, they proved it. A really bad fumble that probably has ruined Darnold's chances of a Heisman and lost them the game on a potentially exciting final drive. Not a bad team by any means, but not a top 10 or even 15 team right now.
Utah Utes +0 spots (previously 18). Bye week.
Florida Gators +0 spots (previously 19). Not as impressive of a beating on Vanderbilt as Alabama did, but still a win.
Oklahoma State Cowboys +0 spots (previously 20). Beat an undefeated Texas Tech team, but not an entirely impressive win. They will stay put.
San Diego State Aztecs +1 spot (previously 22). SDSU > Nebraska confirmed.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +2 spots (previously 24). The most in and out team in NCAA football this year. But this time they get to move up.
UCF Knights NEW (previously UNRANKED). Welcome UCF. 1 postponed game and another cancelled. But yet? A strong win over FIU, Maryland and now Memphis puts this undefeated team in.
NC State Wolfpack +1 spot (previously 25). Not as impressive of a win, but still here.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets NEW (previously UNRANKED). I considered putting Troy in, but considering Georgia Tech has the stronger schedule and they only have one loss, by 1 point to Tennessee vs. Troy's 11 point loss to Boise State, Georgia Tech gets this addition instead as a 4-1 team.
