Overall Rationale: Alright, we finally got to the end of the Bowl Season and we had tons of good Bowl Games in the process. First was BYU taking down Georgia Tech in the People’s National Championship in the Pop Tarts Bowl, then we saw TCU upset USC in the Alamo Bowl. Texas took care of business against Michigan in the Citrus Bowl. Iowa showing Vanderbilt and Diego Pavia that they were no joke in the Reliaquest Bowl, and lastly Arizona got an epic upset in the Holiday Bowl, as SMU beat them. Alright and in the CFP, there wasn’t too much surprises with P4 vs G5 with Oregon taking down James Madison, but they made it a thriller in the 4th Quarter, while Ole Miss had no problems taking Tulane out. But Miami came in and showed they belonged as they upset Texas A&M in a low scoring affair, and then Alabama sought Revenge on Oklahoma from earlier in the season and succeeded. Then in the Cotton Bowl, the teams who had the Bye lost and continued the Streak as Miami upset Ohio State, and on New Years Day, Oregon shutout Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl, and thought this wouldn’t look good for Indiana and Georgia. But luckily we finally saw a team who received a Bye finally win as Indiana just blew the doors off Alabama in their first appearance in the Rose Bowl since the 1968 Rose Bowl, and Ole Miss valiantly beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Then in the Fiesta Bowl, Miami showed they were on a Heater and beat Ole Miss in a last minute TD, but not before Ole Miss had one more gasp, but ultimately failed. Then in the Peach Bowl, Indiana continued its steamroll in Atlanta squashing Oregon dreams. That meant Miami and Indiana and must say while it was played in Miami and was supposed to be Home Field, it was Indiana who had Home Field Advantage. It was a slow start and Indiana took the lead at Halftime, but Miami came back and it was back and forth before Indiana had its signature TD as Mendoza went for it on 4th and 5 and dove into the end zone with determination. That will forever be played in terms of National Championship plays, and while Miami had one more gasp, it was Indiana who got the job done and for the first time ever we see Indiana win the National Championship, IN FOOTBALL! For a school that has been a Basketball School up until recently it’s a shock, but a welcome shock and I’m glad to see Indiana win their First National Championship. With that said, that concludes the 2025 CFB season and must say it was the best CFP we had so far with different teams in the Final Four. See you in 2026 and hope it’s a good one. PS: Tulane and James Madison will not be dropped from the poll due to playing in the CFP and has precedent from last year when it was upgraded to 12 teams.
