Zloggt Ballot for 2025 Final

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Jan. 22, 2026, 10:55 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Every five teams make up a single tier, for a total of five tiers overall. Also, all postseason games - bowls, CFP games, and everything in-between - are taken into account, although non-CFP bowl results are not as heavily prioritized (they DO mean something, albeit not TOO much)

Rank Team Reason
Indiana Hoosiers What more can I say? 'tis really was the season of Hoosier Hysteria!
Miami Hurricanes Astute defense, QB play that ranges from miraculous to petty, playing the better football than the professional team they share a stadium with, "hard-hitting" on-field and off-field play (if potentially warranted in the latter)? Yep...the U is back (in MANY ways)!
Ole Miss Rebels Alas, the revenge story was not meant to be...but boy, did the scorned Landsharks do their best! The streets (and, uh, magnolia-lined rivers) will remember your names!
Oregon Ducks They probably WOULD beat Ole Miss in a hypothetical third game place - and generally do have a better resume - but sheesh...I get that Indiana is a gauntlet, but how do you let yourself get fucked up WORSE in the rematch? C'mon Ducks...
Georgia Bulldogs Still no wins in the 12-team era...but to their credit, they were the closest of the QF teams to make it through (and probably could've beat Miami had they moved on)...shame we didn't see the Beck Revenge Bowl, alas...
Ohio State Buckeyes They were always going to be a tough nut to crack (hahahah get it because buckeye is a nut???)...but woof, who would've thought that MIAMI (of Florida) would've been the one to do so? I did doubt that they would repeat (not that the opposite was unlikely either)...but damn!
Texas A&M Aggies Woof...Miami was not THAT bad of a loss in retrospect...but damn, it's still ridiculous that they lost in that manner...especially when it was certainly winnable lmao.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Not going to drop them...but not going to lift them up either. I still sympathize with Irish fans over the Committee doing that last-minute rugpull on them...but at the same time, arguing about how you're above "meaningless ESPN fodder", only to use said "fodder" as a way to dunk on other teams/conferences...remains quite the doublethink...
Texas Tech Red Raiders Still a successful season in Lubbock, don't get it twisted...but woof, what an absolute ROUGH way for it to all end...sometimes you char the duck, and sometimes the duck chars YOU...
BYU Cougars As much as I would love to as petty "revenge"...yeah, Notre Dame's losses have aged better than BYU's double drubbings by Texas Tech (who themselves got drubbed by Oregon)...but with that being said, WHAT A POP-TARTS BOWL GAME, HUH??? Was rooting for Georgia Tech...but still, much credit to BYU! And still, ultimately a bit more graceful about all that transpired compared to the OTHER lol.
Utah Utes Woof, what an odd month-and-a-half it's been for the Utes...the future may still be a bit uncertain, but at least they can celebrate with one hell of a bowl game win for now!
Alabama Crimson Tide Fuck...fine...even though they still should've never been here to begin with, at least Alabama made the most of the opportunity with that, truthfully, rather impressive comeback against a stout Sooner team in Norman! That's the most credit I am willing to give to the Tide...apart from, well, getting a bit vindicated about getting their shit pushed in by Indiana (Lord knows I'm in the same boat haha).
Texas Longhorns No, just because they've ended up looking like THE best 3-loss team left out of the Playoff doesn't mean that they SHOULD have made the Playoff at all...but hey, much like BYU, they certainly took their bowl game seriously, and I applaud them for it! Guess I can afford to be cordial now before I go back to loathing the Horns once more in September lol.
Oklahoma Sooners Yeah...that was pretty egregious of a loss, shame on you! Though I will play devil's advocate and say that all that "lmao, Oklahoma should have NEVER been in!" rhetoric after the Rose Bowl was perhaps benefiting from hindsight (or the peak of a circlejerk, take your pick) - I DO see why the Sooners' case wouldn't seem as good as it was (and as Mizzou fan, I certainly have no love lost for them either lol)...but nobody was certainly complaining about them THEN, so why do it NOW? It's like saying James Madison should've never been if Oregon got trounced by Texas Tech after - there is a point to be made, sure, but it doesn't make it any less reactionary of a take.
Virginia Cavaliers Damn...sucks to lose this one, but fair play to the Hoos, they definitely showed up! And upon seeing what Miami has done, perhaps it was wise for Virginia to take one for the conference, hahaha!
Vanderbilt Commodores Sheesh...way to burn up ALL that goodwill you've earned over the course of the season, Diego! And sorry that the rest of the team had to suffer for it, but yeah...lessons needed to be learned (which for a nerd school, should be easy for you haha)...
James Madison Dukes Maybe Curt still had enough feelings for the Dukes to beat the snot out of Oregon as revenge for what the Ducks did to his old team? I'd like to think so...either way, they certainly did as well as they could've...and there's NO taking that away from them! Hopefully this can further cement their status as a G5 perennial...
Tulane Green Wave Ergo for the Wave...they unfortunately couldn't get it done, but it's certainly not THE worst loss in retrospect! And besides, it was an amazing season down in New Orleans no matter what! Hopefully whoever continues from Sumrall will keep that gumbo-gravy train rolling!
North Texas Mean Green Will North Texas sniff the same level of success anytime soon? Eh...I shouldn't be entertaining this question, but whatever the answer is, it shouldn't take away from a magnificent season in Denton! And man, am I SO glad that they played with their bowl without TOO many opt-outs...and won at that too!
Iowa Hawkeyes Vandy, do you know what bad your defense has to be for Iowa to drop 34 POINTS ON YOU!? Well, I guess the new OC hire in Tim Lester AND having a two-time FCS natty-winning QB under center DOES actually make the Hawkeyes' offense much better than what the memes would say - just talk to Nebraska or Minnesota - but truthfully, I just want to rub it in more hahaha!
Houston Cougars Ya woo, Cougar football! Wait, is that the right Cougars team? Oh well, don't matter! What a nifty season for Houston! And what an epic way to cap it all off with that big win over LSU too!
Navy Midshipmen Shame that Cincy's roster was too gutted to make for a competitive game...but still, nice win Midshipmen! To continue another win streak after getting your mouth punched twice in a row against Notre Dame and North Texas - including big wins over South Florida AND Army at that - gotta commend that! Hoo-yah!
Illinois Fighting Illini ...yes, I'm a bit peeved at the AP Poll for disregarding us in the final ballot. We beat USC before TCU, and IN regulation too! So why not the both of us, huh? Oh well...you'll NEVER take away that amazing (and crazy) Tennessee win from me! And watching it while slurping on oysters in a sunny warm place...only makes it better (haha, #humblebrag)!
TCU Horned Frogs I know I was ribbing on them a bit earlier, but you can't ignore TCU either! And the way they beat the Trojans is nonetheless super fun and just as incredible as the above example too! Frogs be funny, and all glory to the Hypnotoad and all that!
SMU Mustangs Are they truly better than Michigan? Eh...probably not. BUT, they certainly came to play more compared to the Wolverines in their bowl game (disregarding the obvious shit they had to deal with in Ann Arbor)...and even beyond that, the overall resume perhaps had aged a tad bit better for the Mustangs...and I want to applaud the ACC a bit, so why not? Bravo!
