Overall Rationale: Bias: Go to TAMU, grew up ASU fan Gonna keep writing short unless anyone tells me they read these. I'm u/FlashSpider-man on reddit. Also, bowls are silly in the modern day imo. I don't track who plays or anything. So I'm gonna keep most of it the same and just change based on playoffs.
| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Indiana Hoosiers
|
|
| 2 |
Miami Hurricanes
|
They won when it mattered, in the biggest moments. They beat OSU and Ole Miss, I feel they earned here. |
| 3 |
Ole Miss Rebels
|
I don't like having the at 3, they had an easy schedule and didn't impress. But they won. Avenging the UGA loss in the bigger game, plus a close game with Miami, I guess it's 3. |
| 4 |
Ohio State Buckeyes
|
Got beat by Miami. Didn't play that close. Drops them below Ole Miss. I don't like it, I'm a believer that teams come out flat after the bye. Unfortunately, that is no way to rank teams imo, as there is not enough evidence to make the claim more than just a feeling. |
| 5 |
Oregon Ducks
|
Smoked TTU, hard to disagree with. |
| 6 |
Georgia Bulldogs
|
|
| 7 |
Texas Tech Red Raiders
|
See what I said about OSU and byes. I was really high on TTU, it prob still is biasing me, but they have to drop a bit, even if I think it was the bye's fault. |
| 8 |
Texas A&M Aggies
|
I guess we go up. Bama had a poor showing vs IU, which there's no shame in, but we played Miami close. I'd say we played better for most of that game, we just couldn't take advantage of opportunities. So when it was late and our d got tired, it was too late. |
| 9 |
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
|
I mean, Miami looked really good. So did Oregon, and thus, USC. It was right to leave them out, but, due to the results, they may very well have been a top 10 team this year. |
| 10 |
Alabama Crimson Tide
|
|
| 11 |
BYU Cougars
|
Conference looks bad from TTU game, so they drop a bit. |
| 12 |
Texas Longhorns
|
This is a bold take but I ended with them below OU otherwise, and just couldn't leave that, even with the really bad UF loss. I really don't know if this is justifiable. OU and tu are really close here, is the h2h enough? |

Vanderbilt Commodores

Virginia Cavaliers

Lost conference champ game to Duke |
| 19 |
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
|
|
| 20 |
James Madison Dukes
|
Played hard against Oregon. I'd argue they showed themselves to be the best g5 team. |
| 21 |
Tulane Green Wave
|
Had two chances vs Ole Miss, weren't close either time. Shows a clear gap between p4 and g5. But, at least they have a win over conference champion Duke. |

Houston Cougars

Arizona Wildcats

Iowa Hawkeyes
