Tarmacked Ballot for 2025 Week 16 & Bowls

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Dec. 8, 2025, 12:57 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Eye Test, Metrics such as SOR, FPI, Sagarin, etc, and other polls. I do respect CFP rules such as head to head. I will be putting movements this week.

Rank Team Reason
Indiana Hoosiers +0 Straightforward Head to Head
Ohio State Buckeyes +0 Straightforward - Yes Georgia won the SECCG but given how tight IU/Ohio State was I think they're the clear top two seeds.
Georgia Bulldogs +0 Straightforward
Texas Tech Red Raiders +3 Last weeks rank #7 - I've seeded them here as a bye team based on their schedule and finish. The Conference championship takes weight over Ole Miss and rewards them with the last bye.
Ole Miss Rebels -1 - Not de-ranking, just re-seeding.
Oregon Ducks -1 - Not de-ranking, just re-seeding.
Texas A&M Aggies -1 - Not de-ranking, just re-seeding.
Oklahoma Sooners Same as prior
Alabama Crimson Tide Same as prior. I'm not punishing teams in CCG's who are playoff locks unless it's a bid steal. Their resume is set. Additionally, Alabama dealt with injuries and has beaten Georgia once, so given this was tight and strong defenses going at it there's not a case that weakens their resume lower than Miami or Notre Dames (i.e. 7 top 35 wins versus 2 each respectively).
Miami Hurricanes Same as prior - head to head matters
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Same as prior - head to head matters
BYU Cougars Same as prior - No reason to punish them, we knew this matchup already. If they had won they would've moved to #10 for reseeding purposes (bid stealing) and the weight of a conference championship.
Vanderbilt Commodores Same as prior - Texas beat Vanderbilt, yes, and SOR's are 11 to Texas 12. That being said I think their resume is a smidge ahead just based off the Florida loss being a 9-3 in the regular season compared to Vanderbilts 10-2. Both teams have two losses to top 15 teams, but Florida prevents head to head coming into play.
Texas Longhorns Same as prior - Strong resume.
Utah Utes Same as prior
USC Trojans Same as prior - Head to head with Michigan
Michigan Wolverines Same as prior
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Same as prior - They've hovered here all year.
James Madison Dukes Same as prior. They're auto seeding to 11 in this scenario. Tulane would be my auto seeded #12.
Iowa Hawkeyes Same as prior
Tennessee Volunteers Same as prior
Arizona Wildcats Same as prior
Washington Huskies Same as prior
Missouri Tigers Same as prior
Virginia Cavaliers Same as prior - I know their regular season and I know they've beaten Duke before. I considered moving Tulane into the top 25 but I just don't see them as better than any of the prior 5 or having an argument over Virginia. Duke also isn't getting a higher ranking from me over Tulane, so Tulane is the #12 seed.
