Overall Rationale: Wins and losses matter most. Same record and beat a team head-to-head? You have to be ahead of that team. Rivalry week delivered..... a big lack of upsets, at least at the top. Other than TAMU taking a tumble, a lot of the top stayed relatively static. I feel like I have less and less to write about each week as my adjustments get smaller and smaller and everyone closes in on similar rankings. I did punish Ole Miss some for losing their offensive coaching staff moving forward, but even so, I cannot bring myself to drop them under Oklahoma. That would just be ignoring what did take place this season, even if "it's not the same team." Head-to-head and common opponents is how I ended up differentiating some teams in the middle of the rankings, like Miami-Notre Dame, Texas-Vandy, Ole Miss-Oklahoma, USC-Michigan, Houston-Arizona, etc. Also the Miami-Virginia-Alabama cluster and their common opponent Florida State had a significant impact on the placing of those teams. I personally believe that Alabama should need to win the SEC to make it in, and BYU should be in with a win or a loss, but I'm not on the committee. Also hate how much the committee hates the G5. I have every 10-2 or better team ranked, with #25 UNLV being the lowest-ranked 10+ win team.
