Overall Rationale: Changing methodology at the top to rank 1-12 as who I would have in the playoff if it started today. Possible longshot conference champs ranked

5 Oregon Ducks
6 Ole Miss Rebels Still waiting for the coaching dust to settle, but they can't be left out. See them anywhere from 5-10
7 Texas A&M Aggies In and 1st round host
8 Oklahoma Sooners Maybe the least confident I am in a power 4 school going into the playoff
9 Alabama Crimson Tide In with a CC loss
10 Virginia Cavaliers Win and in
11 BYU Cougars Only loss is to #4 TTU. I wouldn't personally drop them out for a conference championship loss. 11-2 BYU would be in at #11. BYU SOR: 6, ND SOR: 13 BYU SOS: 35, ND SOS: 42
12 North Texas Mean Green AAC winner gets the 12th seed assuming a UVA ACC win.
13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1st team out for me. Two losses, no conference championship. Only benefit for ND is they are both quality losses and they have name recognition. They won't miss it, but I would rather see BYU with only the one loss. Both Oklahoma and Alabama have better resumes for 10-2 teams. Wins all year were dominant, but none were over all that impressive of opponents.
14 Utah Utes 2nd out. I like the quality of losses better than Vandy. Wins are comparable to Vandy and Miami.
15 Vanderbilt Commodores 3rd out. I like the quality of losses better than Miami. Wins are comparable to Utah and Miami.
16 Miami Hurricanes 4th out. Two bad losses, but have looked good otherwise. Best win of the #14-#16 squad, but the losses are far the worst.
17 USC Trojans
18 Tulane Green Wave Both UNT and Tulane would be in above JMU with an AAC trophy
19 James Madison Dukes Can Duke create some chaos in the ACC championship? I'd have JMU in with a Duke win.
20 Texas Longhorns Did you try not losing to Florida?
21 Michigan Wolverines
22 Arizona Wildcats
23 UNLV Rebels UNLV would be in with a Duke and Troy win.
24 Duke Blue Devils Duke would be in with a Duke, Troy, and Boise win.
