mountain_troop86 Ballot for 2025 Week 15

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Nov. 30, 2025, 6:39 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Well, rivalry week delivered on several games. For those new here, my hybrid uses a computer model similar to how NCAA hockey does RPI along and human input from me and what I see. With the regular season at a close, I provided some more detailed reasons. 26-30: Iowa (35), UNLV (17), Louisville (32), Tennessee (30), USF (27)

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes Demons exercised. Model Rank: 1
Indiana Hoosiers Show us you can challenge OSU. Model Rank: 2
Texas Tech Red Raiders Once again killed someone but toughest test coming up because beating a good team twice is the hardest thing to do. Model Rank: 8
Georgia Bulldogs Old fashioned hate has been a lot more competitive the past few seasons but to move up, I expected them to pull away from GT. Revenge game coming up. Model Rank: 5
Oregon Ducks Last possible trap avoided. Depending on CCG, could be a bye team. Model Rank: 4
Texas A&M Aggies I think that was a product of playing the easier side of the SEC all season (not their fault). No team before could truly challenge them for a full 60 minutes. Probably better for them to rest and heal up but gotta win that playoff game to prove something. Model Rank: 10
Oklahoma Sooners Its just boring to watch and they have one of the best resumes for the playoff but I don't see them lasting long. Model Rank: 11
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Not sure anyone watched their game, didn't need to. Model Rank: 12
Alabama Crimson Tide Found a bit of a run game did we? But not the whole game so I am not sure. Its do or die for playoffs with the CCG (or should be). Model Rank: 14
BYU Cougars Don't expect to be taken seriously if you sleep walk against UCF, at home, and have to come from behind for an entire half. Unless they are competitive against Tech in the CCG, out of the playoff conversation. Model Rank: 6
Vanderbilt Commodores I don't understand why these guys dropped a spot in the AP Poll. I know it was a little slow to start but stayed swing for swing and then just stepped on UT's throat. Model Rank: 19
Ole Miss Rebels What a fun couple days huh? I am dinging them right now here because I truly do not know what the hell this team is going to look like without Lane at the helm. The season speaks for itself but that is with Lane (the true hoe). Model Rank: 9
Miami Hurricanes Finally figured out how to dominate a team start to finish (although Pitt shot themselves in the foot a lot and never could recover). Best ACC team on paper but screwed around and doesn't deserve to play for it or be in the playoffs in my opinion. Also, somehow only played 4 away games all year and only 3 outside of Florida? Model Rank: 15
Texas Longhorns Has it consistently gotten better all year? Yes. Was that a huge win? Yes (but also stop being loser fans, its either a good win or A&M isn't good, pick one as they aren't the same). But did you lose to Florida? Big time yes. Schedule all the big OOC opponents you want but you got to win them to allow a hiccup to be overcome and that Florida stinker is why you aren't a playoff team (format too). Model Rank: 26
Utah Utes I'm moving my team out of the playoff conversations. The defense has just been off the past 3 weeks but 10 wins is 10 wins. This is probably right about the spot they belong and I'm content with that. Model Rank: 13
USC Trojans Solid team and just like Utah, right about the spot they belong. Model Rank: 24
Virginia Cavaliers ACC's last hope at making the playoff cleanly, without argument. Model Rank: 16
North Texas Mean Green I respect the hell out of Eric Morris for staying with this team to the end before he moves on (great hire for Ok State). This is a solid football team. Model Rank: 3
James Madison Dukes Will the CFP committee rank them? Probably not again because it indicates what really might happen, no ACC in the CFP. Model Rank: 7
Arizona Wildcats In this 5 game win streak to end the season, they've allowed a total of 23 points in the 2nd half...that's it. 0 in the last 2 games. Much better showing this season than many of us thought. Model Rank: 25
Tulane Green Wave Also respect Sumrall a ton for seeing this through. Great team but their losses were weird blow outs. Model Rank: 18
Michigan Wolverines So who is the actual problem here? Underwood and he was overrated OR the coaching staff can't develop him. All the young QBs across the board showed growth this season but he hasn't and he can't play QB the way he needs to for this team to be legit. Model Rank: 21
Navy Midshipmen Solid team and its weird that they have a 1000yd+ passer. Model Rank: 20
Houston Cougars Survived a scare of that Baylor comeback. Won every road game this season which is insane. Model Rank: 22
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Gave a good fight but scrapping by most of the year was going to catch up and it caught up this final month. Still the right direction for the program under Key. Model Rank: 23
