Overall Rationale: Wins and losses are weighted by the difference in "rank" between the winner/loser and the median team. Scaled such that beating strong teams matters more than beating weak teams, and losing to bad teams is worse than losing to strong teams. Winning is weighted slightly more than losing, and by the preceding two years' performance. Results are scaled by offensive and defensive points per drive efficiencies, and strength of schedule determined by opponents score normalized throughout the season. Preseason rankings are weighted by returning production, talent composite, and previous season(s)' success. Next five out: Missouri, Navy, Washington, LSU, SMU.

2 Ohio State Buckeyes (+0) The Buckeyes are really good...
3 Indiana Hoosiers (+0) Slow start for the Hoosiers, but rolled over Wisconsin in the end.
4 Ole Miss Rebels (+1) The Lane Train keeps on chugging. Good win in a tricky spot against a talented Florida with nothing to lose.
5 Georgia Bulldogs (+1) Kirby Smart is amazing. The onside kick crushed the soul of Texas. Beautiful.
6 Oregon Ducks (+1) Took care of business against Minnesota. Not having any WRs could be problem against better teams.
7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+1) The final score was not as close as it suggests. Notre Dame keeps getting better each week.
8 BYU Cougars (+2) Obliterated a floundering TCU team.
9 Alabama Crimson Tide (-6) Suffered their first loss to a ranked team this year. Alabama needs to learn about the run game.
10 Texas Tech Red Raiders (+0) Smashed a woeful UCF. Tech should be much higher, but these rankings don't like them as much as I think they should.
11 USC Trojans (+0) Really gritty win for USC against Iowa in very Iowa weather.
12 Oklahoma Sooners (+4) Phenomenal effort by the Oklahoma defense to hold Alabama mostly in check.
13 Miami Hurricanes (+2) Smoked NC State. Miami is very good but not elite.
14 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (-1) Woah boy, BC gave Tech everything they could but the Jackets escape Chestnut Hill with a win.
15 Vanderbilt Commodores (-3) On BYE.
16 Michigan Wolverines (+1) WTF Michigan? Great job to still pull out the win despite 5 turnovers.
17 Utah Utes (+1) Utah smashed another mediocre Big12 team. Can they put it together against the best in the league though?
18 Texas Longhorns (-4) Ugh Texas... Lots of issues here, but the O-line and WR drops might be the most egregious.
19 Virginia Cavaliers (+3) Really good win for the Hoos over Duke.
20 North Texas Mean Green (+0) Smashed UAB. The Mean Green are mighty good.
21 Arizona State Sun Devils (+2) Jeff Sims is actually playing very well. Dillingham is such a good coach.
22 James Madison Dukes (-1) Absolutely smoked App. Only dropping a bit because App isn't actually very good and ASU's win was valued more.
23 Illinois Fighting Illini (+1) Decisive win for the Illini over Maryland.
24 Tulane Green Wave (+2) The last few weeks of the American are going to be awesome! So tight at the top of the standings.
25 Tennessee Volunteers (+2) About as expected over NMSU. Good win, but hard to take anything else away from this game.
