Euphoric_Relative_13 Ballot for 2025 Week 8

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 12, 2025, 9:10 a.m.

Overall Rationale: This feels like the first year where I have become a full-on spectator for the rest of the season, since Penn State will not do anything noteworthy for the rest of the year, apart from trying to play spoiler for much better teams. It isn't very pleasant, but it feels kind of relaxing.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes Josh Pate keeps saying that the only reason to rank Ohio State #1 is if you believe the Natty winner should stay #1 until proven otherwise. Now, I do have that belief somewhat affect my rankings, but I also believe that Ohio State should be #1 because, since the Texas game, they've won every single game by three or more scores.
Miami Hurricanes I was tempted to move Miami down to accommodate Indiana, but then I refreshed myself with their schedule, and that idea flew out the window. Also, this is the place folder for the "see _____" reason that I will put down for every team on a bye week.
Indiana Hoosiers I don't think I've ever been more right about anything than I have been about projecting Indiana in the preseason and the first few weeks. Actually, they have been so good I feel like I've been underrating them.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Every single AP Poll projection or top 25 ranking done by sports websites has Tech ranked outside the top 5, and they are all extremely wrong for it.
Texas A&M Aggies I understand that they just played Mississippi State and Florida, but A&M might actually be the best te-WARNING WARNING BAS HAS PREVENTED ME FROM TYPING THIS OUT WARNING WARNING
Alabama Crimson Tide In the battle of wearing black clothes, Dark Deboer beat out Darth Mizz in a very exciting game. Suddenly, Alabama looks like itself again, but it is kinda weird sorta rooting for them?
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Virginia Tech is piss poor, yes. But have you considered that A. they can actually play football again, and B. when they couldn't play football, they nearly beat a team that nearly beat Tennessee. Suddenly, Georgia and Tennessee don't look that good, now do they?
Oregon Ducks Tough loss, and some good teams got some great wins. Also, their one amazing win now looks like a game that should have never even sniffed OT. (sorry)
Ole Miss Rebels How did this team, which many people were calling a top 5 team in the country, nearly lose to W-A-Z-Z-U at home?! I'm only dropping them two spots, but good lord, guys!
Georgia Bulldogs Admittedly, I didn't watch the game, so I'm fully looking at it like one of those people who just look at the box score. Also, I heard the refs screwed over Auburn? Again?
LSU Tigers See Miami
Tennessee Volunteers Look, I understand that Tennessee hadn't beaten Arkansas since the Bush administration, and that they have this "boogeyman" effect on them, but in Neyland? This should've been a beatdown.
BYU Cougars See Indiana, but replace "Indiana" with "BYU". Also, remove the last part about "underrating them".
Memphis Tigers See Miami
Missouri Tigers If one thing made me feel good about college football this week, it's that Beau Pribula didn't have a very good game. I think he's great, I just feel good about saying that.
Vanderbilt Commodores See Miami
Oklahoma Sooners Mateer shouldn't have played. I think it's a closer game if Hawkins plays, and that terrible decision is the only reason why they don't drop further.
USF Bulls Well, North Texas was fun. But at least we get a great game in two weeks!
Virginia Cavaliers See Miami
Utah Utes I still never understood why ASU was ranked again. They beat TCU once, and everyone acted like it was the return of the Mack.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish I hate the word "quality loss". Notre Dame has two very good "quality losses"
Illinois Fighting Illini Illinois has genuinely failed upward because its resume is getting better. It will force Cincy not to be ranked, but I keep reminding myself that it is completely okay to be wrong about a team, since the season isn't over yet, and it can always change.
USC Trojans Lost to Illinois, beat Michigan
Michigan Wolverines Lost to USC, beat Nebraska
Nebraska Cornhuskers Lost to Michigan, beat Cincy, who I really need to emphasize is my #26 team,
