Xy13 Ballot for 2025 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 6, 2025, 2:22 p.m.

Overall Rationale: At this point in the season there will be less hard emphasis on Ranked Wins > P4 Wins > Wins. It will be more about eye test, strength of opponent, and how I feel the teams have stacked up so far. A close overtime loss against another strong opponent won't be viewed as negatively as earlier in the season. A scrape by win against a weaker opponent could lower my view of the team, too. [X #6 would be Xy13's #6 ranked, vs AP #12 for example.

Rank Team Reason
Miami Hurricanes (+1) Back on top. Taking down Ranked Florida State. Also Oregon's Penn State win is suddenly less impressive.
Ohio State Buckeyes (+1) They continue to look strong, and handle business.. playing unranked teams.
Oregon Ducks (-2) How did they struggle against Penn State? Matchup versus Indiana could likely jump them ahead of OSU again.
Oklahoma Sooners (-) Hard to drop them when they win 44-0 with their backup QB. They might not even need Mateer for RRS.
Texas Tech Red Raiders (+4) Beat another undefeated team, 2 teams above them lost, 1 struggled, and 1 had a bye. I had called TTU vs ASU for the B12 CCG preseason. Not sure why people were sleeping on them so hard with that portal class.
Texas A&M Aggies (+4) Teams above lost/struggled/bye. Their offense found their mojo again after last week. Been slowly amassing ranked wins. [MSST was X#21]
Alabama Crimson Tide (+4) He's back. Voldemort's back. (ugh). Win over X#6/AP#16 Vandy.
Ole Miss Rebels (-) BYE week.
Indiana Hoosiers (+3) Sat on a bye and teams above lost. True test @ Oregon next week.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (-3) I don't think WF was a team they were supposed to struggle against this year. Good comeback and got the W, is King getting to much workload and tiring out?
Tennessee Volunteers (+2) BYE
Missouri Tigers (+3) BYE
Iowa State Cyclones (+8) Started off rough in the 1st quarter 0-17 and couldn't quite make the comeback.
Vanderbilt Commodores (+8) I felt like they had all the moment and might've kept up the lead if that long score didn't get called back. Kind of lost the wind in their sails at that point.
Georgia Bulldogs (+3) Mainly, teams above them lost, and their loss team moved up too.
LSU Tigers (-) BYE
BYU Cougars (+3) Remain undefeated. Best team played probably CO(?) though. Very favorable schedule this year to make a B12 CCG run.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+6) Their only losses are by a combined 4 points to current AP#2&5 / X#16. Beat same opponent Purdue better than Illinois.
Illinois Fighting Illini (+3) Another conference game win / teams above lost.
Arizona State Sun Devils (+3) BYE. B12 Gauntlet Continues @ [X#22] Utah next week.
Michigan Wolverines (NR) They've bounced in and out for me. Hard to get a pulse on them. Are they good or bad? I felt like they should've lost to Nebraska, Wisco isn't a strong check. But teams above losing too.
Utah Utes (NR) BYE. 1 loss to Current AP#9 / X#5. Hosting ASU next week should be a big game.
Virginia Cavaliers (NR) Knocked off another undefeated conference foe
Florida State Seminoles (-10) Started slow but fought back to a 1 score game against #1/3 MIA. Should win out the rest of the year (?)
USF Bulls (NR) Only loss to MIA. Big G6 playoff matchup vs North Texas this week. FELL OUT: TEXAS, PENN STATE, MISS ST, MARYLAND
