mccainjames11 Ballot for 2025 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 5, 2025, 4:07 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Oregon Ducks homer
Ohio State Buckeyes unfortunately look dominant
Miami Hurricanes i expected FSU to win and am surprised Miami pulled it off… but it was not encouraging and Cristobal almost threw it away as he usually does
Oklahoma Sooners best SEC team right now based on eye test… Ole Miss has a “better” win but I don’t think any of the 1 loss teams besides Bama/Georgia are all that great so the LSU game doesn’t hold much weight to me
Indiana Hoosiers Indiana has been underrated all season and has yet to climb due to poll inertia, they crushed a very good Illinois team and I’m scared to play them next week
Texas Tech Red Raiders Texas Tech seems like the best Big 12 team by far right now… I actually feel more and more confident in the Big 12 week to week
Ole Miss Rebels see Oklahoma
Texas A&M Aggies essentially Ole Miss, but LSU win is better than Notre Dame
Alabama Crimson Tide if not for the FSU game, Bama would be my favorite SEC team right now… I almost want to rank them at 7 but I have to reward the teams above them for being undefeated
Georgia Bulldogs still confident in them despite the Bama loss, but I think they’ve gotten a little comfortable with their success
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets if I wasn’t a Duck fan I would love to rep the Haynes King Heisman campaign
Missouri Tigers Missouri/Bama will be a very fun test for this team this weekend. They’ve looked impressive but have yet to play a great team (unfortunately it is looking like South Carolina does not count)
Illinois Fighting Illini I think the IU game says more about IU than Illinois… they’ve bounced back pretty well and I’m impressed by their resilience. Hope they beat OSU this weekend lol
Tennessee Volunteers I’m more impressed by Tennessee’s loss to Georgia than LSU’s wins
LSU Tigers they played a bad Clemson team close… they played a bad Florida team close… I think they are the biggest beneficiaries of SEC poll inertia this season
Michigan Wolverines i don’t think michigan is a good team but somehow someway they win each week, including against Nebraska who looks pretty solid. The Oklahoma game was closer than the score suggests and I think Oklahoma with Mateer is a very good if not great team this year
Notre Dame Fighting Irish their two losses don’t look as bad anymore. starting to warm up to them
Memphis Tigers I think they are the G5 team of the season. they do have a few real tests left on their schedule that will kinda reveal whether they’re real or not (USF will be a great game, Tulane should be good, Navy could be tough)
Virginia Cavaliers I don’t think the FSU game was a fluke. I don’t have a lot of ACC teams ranked because I don’t think very highly of Miami or FSU, but I do think Virginia could hold their own against most of the teams outside the top 10
Cincinnati Bearcats as previously mentioned, I’m feeling more and more bullish on the Big 12 and Cinci’s win has kinda thrust them into the contender conversation as of late. Nebraska is probably my 26th or 27th team right now so they don’t even have a bad loss
Arizona State Sun Devils see Cincinnati, but MSU is a worse loss
USC Trojans USC actually looks like a solid team this season. They could very easily take their next 3 games, all 3 of which could potentially ranked (this week vs Michigan, next week at Notre Dame, vs Nebraska after a bye)
Vanderbilt Commodores i still think Vandy is a solid team, Pavia just had a very Johnny Manziel game (this time for worse)
BYU Cougars i don’t like this team and don’t trust this team but they’re 5-0 in a solid conference so I don’t see any reason not to rank them
Iowa State Cyclones pretty disappointed in this loss because I thought Iowa State was a much better team (closer to the top 10 then #25) but Cincinnati is not a bad team and ISU can still bounce back
