Doogitywoogity Ballot for 2025 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 6, 2025, 12:25 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I went to the forest and found a small stump to sit on. As I sat, contemplating the nature of reality and humanity’s role in the universe, a small rock fell in front of me. There was nothing above me, it just fell from the sky. This rock had two googly eyes and a small indent that looks like a mouth, and the overall shape is elongated like an egg. This rock’s name is Bryan. Bryan has strong opinions and he tells them to me. Bryan likes college football. Bryan has opinions on college football, and those play into these rankings.

Rank Team Reason
Miami Hurricanes Big win over a good FSU squad. Going into your rivals house and (outside of the fourth quarter) dominating the game. Miami has earned their place as number one. Louisville in two weeks looks to be the hardest remaining game so Miami should run the table from here on out.
Oregon Ducks Penn State does not look as impressive of a win. That said I think it’s more of an aberration and this Oregon team did beat a good squad. Huge matchup vs Indiana next week coming off this bye.
Ohio State Buckeyes I may be delusional but I think Minnesota is a pretty decent squad this year, so this is an impressive win I put on post with the Washington win last week. If they can do the same vs Illinois next week I’ll have them above Oregon.
Ole Miss Rebels Not much to say after the bye. I worry they’re too high but we won’t really get to tell until the Georgia game in two weeks.
Texas A&M Aggies Second half squad looked solid. Next week vs Florida is a big game, with a higher ceiling and lower floor than this week’s MS St. I strongly debated jumping Ole Miss but I didn’t want to penalize Ole Miss for having a bye week.
Oklahoma Sooners Destroyed Kent State, they should face slightly easier competition this next week in the red river shootout. Is yalls qb going to be back? I heard he might but idk if that was legit or cope.
Indiana Hoosiers Hopefully a restful bye week as they head into a major fight with Oregon this coming weekend.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Huge win over Houston, who’s better than most will give them credit for. This TTU team is legit and should be the favorites for the Big XII at this point. A decent challenge vs Kansas this upcoming week and then at Arizona State for a great matchup the next weekend.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets This upcoming four game stretch should be relatively easy if the Yellowjackets are as good as I think they are. Duke looks to be the biggest upcoming challenge.
Alabama Crimson Tide Big win over a solid Vanderbilt program. Continues to show the FSU loss was an aberration and not the norm. Certainly not a perfect team, but I think they have a better chance since any team in the Bryce Young and beyond. They’ve got a tough but winnable stretch coming up to continue to prove themselves.
Virginia Cavaliers Louisville was a good team, I had them quite high in my own rankings. That was another big win for Virginia. Cal and Duke look to be the most challenging remaining games, so they very much are their own masters at this point.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Boise State isn’t what it was last year, but I read this similar to the Arkansas beat down last week. Good steps for Notre Dame while others are struggling. Navy is likely their best shot at a ranked matchup for the remainder of the season.
Missouri Tigers Am I crazy or have they not played in like 3 weeks.
Georgia Bulldogs Pretty one sided win over Kentucky, but don’t really change my thoughts on this squad. Auburn and Ole Miss coming up will be good chances to bounce back.
Illinois Fighting Illini Beating up Purdue is kind of a minimum so this doesn’t really change how I think about Illinois. Their chance to prove they should still be in the B1G (and maybe playoff) race is this weekend vs Ohio State.
Arizona State Sun Devils Bye week, but lots of movement in the top 25 let’s the Sun Devils climb back up some more over some overhyped teams. Tough stretch coming up that may decide the Big XII championship contenders.
USF Bulls That was, suspicious… UNT next weekend is a huge game for the AAC and I expect the Mean Green to be giving USF everything they can.
Cincinnati Bearcats Huge win! Bringing themselves into contention for the Big XII is huge for the Bearcats, they should have an easier run before ramping up in the second half of their schedule.
Iowa State Cyclones Certainly not over for the clones, plenty of chances to get back in the fight, they’re just playing from behind now.
Memphis Tigers Demolished Tulsa, as expected. A bye week and warm up vs UAB before a massive game vs USF.
Florida State Seminoles Apart from Mario Cristobal trying his best to throw away the fourth quarter FSU is nowhere in the same league as Miami. That doesn’t mean they’re bad, but they are not realistically in the running for the ACC championship anymore without some choking from Georgia Tech, Duke, and Virginia at least. They should win our given the rest of their schedule.
Utah Utes Bye week before heading in to face off with a solid Arizona State team. This is their chance to redeem themselves after the poor showing against TTU.
LSU Tigers I’m not sure that they deserve this spot given their body of work so far, but we’ve got them here this week. South Carolina is their chance to show they aren’t frauds, and Vandy, A&M, Alabama is where they can prove they belong.
BYU Cougars I’m really not convinced of this squad yet, given how bad their opponents thus far have been. But, I’ve got to respect getting to week 7 undefeated. They’ll have to earn it going forwards as UCF is the only “easy” win left and they aren’t that bad.
Vanderbilt Commodores Vandy just hanging on. I had tuned out of this game right after Pavia’s fumble. I was shocked at the final score, what on earth happened? Box score makes it look like it was close until the fourth but gotta be disappointing for the dores. Much needed bye week to regroup for LSU and Mizzou in the coming weeks. Next five out are Michigan, Navy, Louisville, Nebraska, and Tennessee
