Overall Rationale: Why? Why was I cursed with the knowledge of 1000 star systems? Why must I know what most deem unknowable, the quantifications and philosophies of the best and brightest in the known habitable galaxy? How can I hold all knowledge of 12 of the leading species in the galaxy and yet I simply cannot predict the outcome of a simple football game?

While they have what most years would be a very impressive resume, both Notre Dame and Florida are dealing with slow starts, and Florida may not be able to recover theirs given the level of play from them and their coaching staff lately. USF win still looks solid and in conjunction with the others makes me impressed by the Hurricanes. A massive matchup in two weeks vs FSU. |

I’m having a hard time judging the Buckeyes this year. texas has really been struggling offensively and the Ohio game was closer than I would expect. I’m not sure if I’m being too judgy or if I’m rightfully not quite sure of this team. |

I think the Carson Beck divorce was best for both parties, but I can’t help but want to see the two in an all out fight with their seasons on the line in the playoffs. |

Huge win in the Civil War. Dante Moore is looking better than I thought he would at this point. I can easily see myself putting them all the way to 1 next week depending on the outcome of the Penn State game. |

I think the biggest thing is we need to see Allar step up. If he doesn’t prove himself vs Oregon I’ll likely drop this team quite a bit. If he performs decently but they still lose they’ll still be decently ranked. |

OU has beaten Auburn and Michigan, who both look quite decent this year. Mateer is one of the best QBs so far this season. Now they get a rest, and a tune up vs Kent State before taking on texas and hopefully embarrassing the shorthorns. |

I’m becoming less sure of this team. But I don’t want to weight the close win over Arkansas State too heavily against them. The upcoming Arizona game will clarify a lot about both teams and what we can expect out of the Big XII this year. |

Demolishing Kent State’s team seems to be a pastime for top teams. First TTU, now FSU, and soon OU. FSU needs to be careful this coming week not to be caught looking ahead to Miami. Virginia has improved significantly and might be able to threaten the upper tier of the ACC. That said, the Miami game is massive. |

Alright I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve been too harsh to the Hoosiers. They proved it to me vs Illinois. To atone for my sins I’ve moved them up here. Windiana is back, in fact they never left. Just some folks (me) assumed they’d drop off significantly. I should know better than to discount Coach Cignetti, he’s an absolute beast. |

Another team I’ve not given enough attention. In fairness I was waiting for them to play real competition, and they absolutely spanked Utah. I think Utah is solid this year too so that’s all the more impressive. Turns out money can buy happiness, you just have to spend it right. |

Vanquishing Kansas and South Carolina are solid moves. You get a tune up and a bye week before a very difficult second half schedule starting with the Alabama schools. Mizzou has the chance to prove they’re legit, but it’s a tough road. That said they’ve survived two early challenges. |

Lots of movement around them but I think the Aggies slot in best at 12. It’s a bit difficult to judge the Notre Dame game, and they’ve been lackluster in their other games so far. Auburn should be a good barometer, if the Ags don’t slip up like they did last year. No game has made me more upset than that Auburn game last year. I’m still perturbed by it. |

I’m becoming less impressed with the tigers by the game. Clemson is actually dogshit and only beating Florida by 10 with 5 picks is laughable. Louisiana Tech is doing the heavy lifting right now on your schedule. |

I sense some pent up frustration. How many different players ran for a touchdown? Absolutely absurd dropping 70 on a solid G5 program. Every team that plays this Vanderbilt should be worried. That Alabama game in a couple weeks will be must watch TV. |

I like Haynes King. I think he’s got that dawg in him. The Yellowjackets should have an easy time over the next couple of weeks until they face off with Duke. |

Good win over an improving Michigan State. Next four games will be a challenge and will define the season for the Trojans. |

Why’d you have to go and ruin the fun. Everyone wanted to see Tulane win. Do they even keep Retzlaff as their starter or has this shown that he just doesn’t mesh with the receivers? Ole Miss’ season will be defined in the upcoming games vs LSU and Georgia. |

Beating up on UAB is a time honored tradition in the SEC. I suppose the stomping of UAB is what led to that one player stomping the Tennessee kicker’s foot. Tennessee gave the right answer coming off the Georgia game, and sets up for an intriguing matchup vs Mississippi State. |

They’re ranked partially off of my own hype. Given how that’s gone for other teams so far this season, that does not bode well for the Cardinals. Pitt and Virginia should be good barometers for how much to actually expect out of this squad before the Miami game. |

Flexing on Sam Houston State is certainly one of the all time moves. I’ll be honest, I learned nothing about that squad from this game, given how bad SHSU is this year. Matchup in the swamp after the bye will be a good test of if Manning actually got out of his head, or if he crumbles at the first sign of a real defense. But based off that positive sign, texas has returned to my rankings for the first time since the Ohio State loss. |

I know they didn’t play, but I like this Houston squad. I like Conner Weigman, and I think they could be much better than expected. The TTU game in a few weeks is going to be huge. |

Good bounce back after the Miami loss, and did better than South Carolina did against the same competition. The AAC race this year looks crazy an the UNT game in a few weeks should be a fun matchup. |

I haven’t been paying too much attention to this year’s huskies. But after that Apple Cup win I like the direction of this team. The upcoming Ohio State game should tell us allot about this Washington squad. |

Big win over Arkansas. Like I said with USF, this AAC race should be all kinds of fun this year. Memphis has a pretty favorable schedule all things considered and should be fun to watch. |

Vs Tennessee and @A&M should let us know what kind of team the Bulldogs will be this year. The ASU win looks better and better by the week. |
