Maladroit44 Ballot for 2025 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 21, 2025, 1:01 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Well, Indiana did not lose to Illinois by 30 at home. Your tentative top-25 rank has officially been upgraded to a tentative top-15 rank, Hoosiers. After such a chaotic start to the season, things really chilled out this week, which means a whole ton of more minor adjustments and reevaluations—everyone's favorite part of polling! Vanderbilt is up into the top ten with an obliteration of GSU and a minorly-résumé-boosting bounceback from South Carolina, joined there by Ole Miss with a very convincing win over Tulane. I am also prepared to eat crow on Texas Tech, which to my dismay seems to be genuinely great. The Clemson win continues to age horribly for LSU and now for Georgia Tech as well, though at least the Tigers can point to Florida perhaps being not *as* awful as they seemed? (Still 4-8 at the very best considering the schedule, but...) I simultaneously wanted to rank all three of Auburn, Memphis, and USC and also not rank any of them, but it's Auburn that gets musical-chaired out on the basis that (a) they did lose and (b) the transitive impressiveness of beating Baylor (which beat SMU) has faded now that both Baylor and Arizona State have lost again. Such is life.
